"Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt.207)

WOW! What else can I REALLY say about last weekend? Words like, "awesome", "epic", "historical", "monumental", "memorable", "life-changing", all come to mind. But yet I was speechless at the overwhelming turnout (and then later feedback) to the Block Association's hosting of Target's 1st Sat. dance party (organized by Society HAE). We thought it WOULD be big, but had no idea to that magnitude. It HAD to be I say at least 3,500-4,000 folks in attendance in the Brooklyn Museum's back parking lot. It seemed like the stars were aligned for us! The weather was near PERFECT, it was outdoors, the date fell on our anniversary weekend, AND the musically theme (inspired by Warhol/Studio 54) 80's hits was universal to the crowd that came out...DOPE! The highlights of the night for me was seeing folks I hadn't seen in years & 1st time attendees come out in support. Plus the crowd obeying our every command, hands high. Then the united "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!" shout out the audience gave us mid-way through our set. Only flaw, was when the power shut off for a brief minute or so. Which didn't stop the crowd from clapping it up to keep the vibe going. But hey, would it be the ULTIMATE Brooklyn "park jam" if that DIDN'T happen? Thank YOU if your attended to both the museum & the after party! We LOVE you! Now the question is..."What's NEXT?" Sent us your thoughts and comments to and peep the new site in the works Let's do it AGAIN...REAL soon! ; )
