"Top Of The World Baby!" -the Block Association's 2nd Anniversary / July 4th Roof Top BBQ Jump-Off Extravaganza!!!

I'm not here to rub stuff in yo face, but if you DIDN'T make it upstairs to our very first roof top party for or 2nd Anniversary then let me tell you man, YOU BLEW IT!!! It was EVERYTHING folks expected to be but little did folks know it was the party that almost wasn't! True story, gather round kids and listen closely. Ok a while back before July even came round L.A. (Lyshaan Hall), Ngozi (Odita), DJ Trauma, and I were all scouting for spaces in Brooklyn to host our 2nd Annual July 4th anniversary party but was coming up short. To the rescue comes Patty Laurent that put me on to a rooftop space in the city (Rare View) that I attended a while ago and struck up a deal w/ management to book that Monday the 4th. But was told "Urban" (IE "black") parties were kinda frowned upon here, but he was willing to give us a try. However phone call after phone call, meeting after meeting, dude was giving me the "hide and seek, duck duck goose" routine and the clock was ticking! So by divine chance I happen to come across a vague e-mail from an associate suggesting I contact her for a possible lucrative venture. And low and behold a client of hers (she does hair btw) owned a FREAKIN' ROOF TOP! SWEET! You do see where this is going right? Ok so BONG! We meet and agree to collabo on the night to ensure all our people have the most memorable holiday possible and within a few days left till the 4th "Touch the Sky" was ON AND POPPIN'! However due to the fact that we were sharing the space AND the building was occupied with tenants now, the invite was to be PRIVATE! But thanks to the good ol' Internet, Facebook, word of mouth buzz, etc. It got NUTSZILLA! So if I didn't see you, I'm glad you came...BEST ONE YET!!!!

With each passing year something old is replaced by something new. That's IF it's even replaced at all! So alas I'm saddened to say (CUE THE VIOLINS) that Room Service on Fridays will be NO MORE. However while going through my iPhotos cache I spotted some pics from our final days over there that I deemed worthy to post finally being that the holidays were done. S/O's to Stormy McNair, Melissa Alvarez, & Laura Abreu who celebrated there b'days with us and are pictured down below. "Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt.234)

This will probably be the shortest "Flashing Lights" posting you will EVER see folks! Why? Well here's the deal. For one, I was pressed for time, A lil' tired, and Veranda is but so big! However the pictures I DID take, I thought were worth still posting. Oh, by the way, before I get ahead of myself. These pics were taken at the listening party for Ciara's latest release ("Basic Instinct") that's coming out (or is it out already?). That album is aptly named if you ask me, cause the stuff I heard was pretty "basic" Ciara if you ask me. Nothing too far off her heavily beaten path. Anyways, my "room-mate" aka Room Service partner, Patty Laurent did a fine job getting press coverage and Ciroc/Nuevo sponsorship on such a short notice for a label's throwback listen party event. "Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt. 231)

Monday night, (I'm not sure if you got my text or not) I assisted in hosting duties for Patty Laurent's label launching event at 1Oak that went off without any glitches despite the behind the scenes DRAMA! Word had it that Diddy put the event on blast on Twitter so 1Oak was type nervous about the turnout expected...security wise of course. But I gotta say, it was NO incidents to speak of other than Coco's (yeah Ice-T was there too, hanging with of all people Treach?) ass trying to break free from her pants! The majority of the crowd was white (because that's just how 1Oak gets down) but trust, they do alot of couch sitting that night TOO! Don't get it twisted. Except their couch sitting is accompanied by fist-pumping as well. LOL. Anyways DJ Reach was the music selector for the event and he did well pleasing the mixed (age AND race) crowd of attendees. Cassie, Young Joc, and myself were the only OTHER celebs I noticed throughout the crowd besides the Coco, Ice-T and Treach sightings. Afterwards L.A. and I made a bee line over to CV (105 Rivington) to peep this group 'Frei (the Ahficionados/ the Block Assoc.) has been raving about called Electric Wire Hustle guest DJaying there. Spun around the round twice then punched out for the night...GONE!
