"And The Band Played On!" -The Block's 1st Music Video "It's A Toast"

During the summer (around July to be exact) the Block Association released an anniversary mixtape ("Crew Love") that featured the original single "It's A Toast" custom made for the team to be our anthem of sorts. Now fast forward 5 months later and we are FINALLY getting around to doing a video for it! However it WAS more than perfect timing to drop it to help promo not only the Block members, to familiarize yourself with our faces (you'll be seeing ALOT of us next year starting with THIS weekend LOL), but to help you understand how SERIOUS our (first ever in the city) NYE party "OCEAN'S 13" will be! So without further ado, here's some descriptive commentary by artist Chris Faust on the Block Boys lifestyle. FYI: the track was done by none other than producer J Kits (Google him!) who just completed several tracks on Trey Songz latest album. Yeah..we're that MAJOR!

"Made For TV!" -Episode One of the Franklin & Dean NYE Mini Documentary Web Series

Finally the long awaited video has arrived! Shot live on location at KAI studio for the Block Association's New Year's Eve event titled "Franklin & Dean" this is part one of a three part mini doc web series that I'll be posting up EXCLUSIVELY on the Minority Report first! Film by the steady hands of sir Chris Faust (yep THAT Chris Faust!) the clip posted shows just a glimpse of the sheer amount of volume of folks who attended. Added with some background commentary by yours truly...me...Alanzo Dale ("Danny Ocean") on what really motivates the Block Boys to go so HARD!  S/O to ALL that attended that hectic night and who continue to support our "mov(i)ement"and to DJ CEO for the audio assist that night! Real memories can't be captured on film, but we damn sure come close! See you guys Sunday @Pranna for the brunch party or @Hotel Chantelle for the after party...or BOTH! theBlockRSVP@gmail.com

"Top Of The World Baby!" -the Block Association's 2nd Anniversary / July 4th Roof Top BBQ Jump-Off Extravaganza!!!

I'm not here to rub stuff in yo face, but if you DIDN'T make it upstairs to our very first roof top party for or 2nd Anniversary then let me tell you man, YOU BLEW IT!!! It was EVERYTHING folks expected to be but little did folks know it was the party that almost wasn't! True story, gather round kids and listen closely. Ok a while back before July even came round L.A. (Lyshaan Hall), Ngozi (Odita), DJ Trauma, and I were all scouting for spaces in Brooklyn to host our 2nd Annual July 4th anniversary party but was coming up short. To the rescue comes Patty Laurent that put me on to a rooftop space in the city (Rare View) that I attended a while ago and struck up a deal w/ management to book that Monday the 4th. But was told "Urban" (IE "black") parties were kinda frowned upon here, but he was willing to give us a try. However phone call after phone call, meeting after meeting, dude was giving me the "hide and seek, duck duck goose" routine and the clock was ticking! So by divine chance I happen to come across a vague e-mail from an associate suggesting I contact her for a possible lucrative venture. And low and behold a client of hers (she does hair btw) owned a FREAKIN' ROOF TOP! SWEET! You do see where this is going right? Ok so BONG! We meet and agree to collabo on the night to ensure all our people have the most memorable holiday possible and within a few days left till the 4th "Touch the Sky" was ON AND POPPIN'! However due to the fact that we were sharing the space AND the building was occupied with tenants now, the invite was to be PRIVATE! But thanks to the good ol' Internet, Facebook, word of mouth buzz, etc. It got NUTSZILLA! So if I didn't see you, I'm glad you came...BEST ONE YET!!!!

"Frei Stylin' Conversations With..." -Chris Faust's Q & A With Freelikefrei & The M Report

Okay folks, I'm mo' need you to pay attention to me on this one. For sometime now I've been watching this young talent man grow not only as an artist but just a dope HUMAN BEING for some years now. To the point were he's become a pseudo lil' (sorry, YOUNGER) brother to me in a sense. Evolving from the former moniker of "Print" to now adopting his given name, is not the only change in the game he's about to bring. I'd put good hard-earned money up and say he could go toe to toe with A LOT of these current cats out there doing it! Real rap! Anyways I am more than proud to announce that this coming Friday we'll have the honor of hosting his "yeah, It's FINALLY finished and out" release slash, Q & A slash, let's get Luke's (Place) POPPIN' (!) party with us that night. Here's a chopped and screwed interview conducted by Freelikefrei, shot by me (the Minority Report), and edited by Chris himself...yeah he does that too. On TOP of being a school teacher!

"Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt.247)

"The great Frank White is here to excite!" And excite they did! Last Wednesday the short-lived long loved cultural cafe' Frank White held a reunion slash honor awards gathering (held at Littlefield) that was one not to be missed. Friends, family, and fans all came together to toast the accomplishments of one another achieved in the space in such a short time. the night was truly...EPIC! It was great to see all those familiar faces together in one spot and on top of that walk home with the "crown" (award). But on Wed. the celebrating didn't end. The SAME gang got together AGAIN in a more intimate setting for the relaunching of "the Class Reunion" dinner party event now held at Luke's Place (formerly En) for the fashionable social set in Bklyn and beyond. Here's the picture EVERY ONE'S been asking so patiently (yeah right) about. Enjoy, and hope to see you at Luke's later on tonight or even the Ft. Greene Fest kick-off party.
