Okay, somebody tell me. Is there some sorta "Rap Renaissance" going on in the Chi that I didn't hear about? Lupe, Common, Kanye, John Legend, all are pulling to get Chicago reinstated in "the Windy City...and spits too!" Now here comes these new "kids" on the Chicago block, the Cool Kids. Never heard of 'em? Then maybe you're just not as cool as you thought you were, huh? Well FYI, they cats tore it up at the American Museum of Natural History and made way for a Kanye appearance, that left the crowd speechless. I say all this cause, Sunday night at S.O.B.'s, you can see first hand what all the hub bub is all about.

"From the Root-er to the Tooter"-the Roots Listening Party Reveiw

Did I tell you about the Roots listening party I was "invited" to? No? Oh, my bad, it's probably cause I never got even near the door to the spot it was held at (lol). Man listen, it was all "fiasco but no Lupe" brother! I showed up at lil' late (about a half an hr.) due to the fact that I was hoping to avoid the "beginner's rush" 7:30 start up time listed on the invite. No sir, that was a dead issue cause upon walking up to the address they give, you woulda thought that there was a FREE Playstation 4 giveaway going down...with a iPhone to boot. My only thought was "I hope folks line up like this to vote for Obama." Peep the madness (meaning, the only two pics) that was going on below.

Kanye? N*E*R*D? Lupe? Minus the addition of Rihanna, tell me that you didn't see this coming?
This tour is basically the prelude/test run to the powerhouse group (CRS) these musical mavericks have been conspiring to put together for sometime now

...You Better slow it down." Was the 1st song that popped in my head when I recently went on-line to peep the ticket prices for Mr. "Cool's" concert tomorrow at the Nokia Theater
(Times Square).
At $165-$200 bucks a ticket...each, homey better have EVERY rapper that guest appeared on his album performing with him, AND invite me backstage to share his left-over "groupie luv!"
Sad thing about it is, I had offered to take my homeless cousin (a HUGE Lupe fan) who's sick from cancer, with the bum leg to the show as a dying wish. (Hope you're reading this Lupe.)
But unfortunately, the kid don't have "Superstar" money like that. Guess you'll have to YouTube it baby, I tried. Seriously though, how and when the (F word) did STANDING ROOM ONLY prices for a small room concert get so (F word) high?
Tell me something...He has Prince as his backing band?
He's gonna bring Obama out and do that Soulja Boy dance?
