"Thank God It's Free..." -Like Frei Fridays Opening Night Photos, Enjoy & Be 'Frei

Okay off to a GOOD (but late) start, "Free like'frei" Fridays at the former Tamboril space now renamed Bamboo lounge this pass Friday was a HIT! The musical theme, 90's music till now, was executed PERFECTLY by guest DJ Jasmine Solano for the grand opening night. Brooklyn came out strong to support the Ahficionados crew and their brand of "Brooklyn bounce" I guess you could call it. Here's some great images (patting self on back) I had captured early on in the night as the crowd grow min by min. If you happened to have missed this one then FRIDAY he'll be hosting yet another one w/ guest DJ Trauma (Soundproof Intl'/the Block Association) with good ol' Soul music as the theme this time around! It IS an every Friday thang. You do KNOW this right?

"The Boogie Monster Is Coming" -YES! One Mo' Day Till We Monster Ballin'

The Survival Guide of Having A Great Time @ MONSTERS BALL!

1. Have you RSVP'd for FREE entree (till 11:30) yet? That's the ONLY way that the FREE thing works so...Make sure it's your FULL NAME too!

2. EARLY arrival is HIGHLY SUGGESTED! We're expecting just as (if not BIGGER) than last year's turnout for this Saturday so the line will be long and strong. If you're not through those doors by 11:30 on the dot then you WILL be subject to paying the $10 (or more) entree fee.

3. Know how to get there? Brooklyn Bridge is the best way coming from Manhattan the first exit to your right Cadman Plaza then bear right and straight down will bring you right to Front St. By train you can take, the A/C to High St. third car (coming from BK) exit then walk three blocks down. 2/3 train to Clark St. will put you close too. Last option would be the F train to York as well but the walk is a little farther.

4.Dumbo is TERRIBLE on parking! However there IS a parking lot on the very NEXT block from the venue on Front St. that stays open late!

5.ALL Block Association events are 21+ w/ID Yeah we know the Brooklyn Circus is co-presenting but hey, we're not selling clothes Saturday. It's a PARTY folks! NO ID NO ENTRY NO BUTS! Check before you leave the house and the other purse you forgot it in.

6. This is a COSTUME party! However ALL BLACK attire is fine but CLEAN CUT PLEASE! And honestly a mask wouldn't hurt either if you going for that look. No costume WILL cost you slightly more at the door.

7. They will be all races, ages (over 21), and walks of life there. Be respectful to EVERYONE. Cause you have a mask on is NO excuse to be rude and disruptive. You AND your girl "Snooki" WILL get thrown the f**k out back to Jersey Shore!

8. DJs FREE like 'Frei, Trauma, Goldfinger, and Jasmine Solano are well qualified DJs and play a wide variety of music genres, so you hear a LOT on Sat. Plus we have THREE flrs. so if you're NOT the dancing type then the first and second flrs. are more loungy.

9.Bring friends and a GOOD camera! It's going to be a eyeful if history repeats itself, and you wouldn't wanna miss a THING!

10. Come with a GREAT attitude a make NEW friends and see old ones and simply have a FUN time! Introduce yourself to a Block Association or Brooklyn Circus member and let'em know you appreciate the invitations. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

"You Can Get W/This Or You Can get W/That!"-Summer Fun Is Now ON!

YO! It's a hellava lot of things going on for the next two days that will set you straight for partying for a LEAST a month! All starting TODAY with not one, but TWO Drake events going on! The first one will be at the South St. Seaport after work around 6pm (till 9pm) which is where he'll be performing for FREE courtesy of Paper Magazine (along w/ Hanson & Ninjasonik)
Then he's doing overtime later at his album release party. WHEW! Or you can say "F**K Drake!" all together and stop thru to the-Dream's "Love King" listening party where Idris Elba will be guest DJing at! Who cares if he can spin? Chicks will come out just to watch this dude plug in his iPod! Catch your breath for tomorrow cause ya girl Kelly Rowland needs you to come out and support her, on her latest release listening party post-Destiny Child effort. It's days like these I WISH I had a twin man! Or a clone...or even a lil' brother that listens & looks up to me. But that's another issue. LOL!

"AmErykah...Concert Of the Free" -Tonight Doin' It In (the Wingate) Park

Case there was a slight chance you DIDN'T know, Badu will be doing BK at the Martin Luther King Jr. free concert series in Wingate Park this evening. Be advised, there will be ALOT of "incent" burning going on at this particular event, so don't wear your good s#@t out there if you don't like the smell of "incent" (wink wink). And plus, get this, there's to be NO cameras allowed in the park...none. Huh? I guess this is to keep folks from Youtubin' the poor treatment of our folks by the cops handling crowd control. But that's just a theory. Get there EARLY, cause the line goes "On & On"...Get it? On & on? Erykah? First song? Aww forget it.

"the Dance Electric"- Free Dance Performance @ the Flea

Tonight of all nights, this had to fall on the very night I'm going to the concert (Jay-Z & Mary J.). Don't you hate that when it happens? Hey, but that doesn't mean that you can't partake in the fun. What is it exactly? Why it's a FREE dance performance down at the Flea (off of Canal st.) w/ the artist conducting an intimate discussion after the show. So fellas don't try kickin' it to her DURING the act, that's just tacky...and desperate. Well, that's what they told me when I tried to.

Dance Conversations
the Flea -41 White St. (bwtn B'way & Church)
Show starts 7pm
FREE admission

"Class Picture Day" -Photos from "the Class Reunion"

Straight detention, for anybody who dares miss another "Class Reunion"! This second time around was a hit right outta the park. And as the weather heats up so will the event. It wasn't even that warm and folks made use of the cozy back yard setting, chatting it up by the electric heater, and sparking their own flames (wink). It's ONLY once a month (every 1st Thurs.) folks so please start planning ahead. Save these dates, June 5th and especially July 3rd & Aug 7th. We're building a "bomb" to destroy the weak social scene and rebuild it. Faster, stronger, better. Lots of thanks to Frank White (the new home), Coup D'etat BK, Game Rebellion, our newest "class" mate Nicole James & sound selector Free, for their hand in another beautiful BK night. Peeps the "class photo" (M.I.A. B'day boy Kiser)
