Okay folks we are almost down to the wire! 2 days and a couple of hrs till 2012 and the historically large black tie event about to happen in the great city of Brooklyn! So question, are you straight with tickets? Have you gotten or even MADE your outfit yet? Comfy shoes? Gotcha ride or car service squared away? COOL! Then for those of you that don't cause you got caught up with all the holiday shopping, then here's the COMPLETE LISTING of all things "Franklin & Dean" NYE event to fill yourself in and be up to speed.

the LOCATION:
KAI Studio located on Dean St. (1011 to be exact. betwn. Classon & Franklin)
It's NOT a club but an event space, that's considered one of Bklyn's best kept secrets. It boasts two spacious floors (one over looking the other), 30 ft. ceilings w/ draped walls, all white interior, back wall bar and platformed seating area for a party of 12. When you attend and see it first hand, it will make PERFECT sense to you just why we decided to host it there.

the TRANSPORTATION:

the B48 Bus runs down both Classon and Franklin (even though I highly doubt you'll be coming by bus). the C or shuttle train to Franklin Ave. with a four block walk will get you the closet by train. Or splurge and take a cab. You deserve to arrive in style right! Make sure you have a # on the way home too...LOL!

the MUSIC:

The DJs we have lined up to play are Freelikefrei aka Frei Speech (the Ahficionados), DJ Trauma (Soundproof Intl.) and a cameo appearance set by DJ CEO (Influence Series) We'll be rotating DJs throughout the night playing EVERYTHING from Top 40 Pop, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Kompa, Soca, & even Slow Jams at the end of the night! WEAR COMFY SHOES! You've been warned!

the LOOK:

The crowd will be a mixed crowd. Ages 24+ to 40+, 80% Black 10% white 10% other. And even though we're pumping "1930's Prohibition, Black Cotton Club" motif, super uber upscale is what we're going for (as always) if you can do it on a damn Monday night for Prim & Prop, then NYE should be NO problemo...CORRECT? Fellas NO jeans etc etc. Ladies NO tights/leggings! Get it right or get it outta here! Tickets are VOID if the dress code is not adhered to. This IS NYE step it up folks!

Named after a fictional 1930's Prohibition era speakeasy, "FRANKLIN & DEAN" seemed like the right name to title our revamped NYE party moving forward from our usual casino themed ones of years past. The fashionable motif was to be built off of "a blk version on the Cotton Club...but in Brooklyn" Besides, the name also helps folks remember the address too!

Doors open at TEN O'CLOCK sharp people! So that folks can get comfortable and not have to be in a rush to get thru the doors during the Times Sq ball countdown. Departure time will be FOUR AM folks, but we just MAYBE go an extra hour depending on you guys vibe in there.

"Give Me Some Skin Friend!" -The Skin I Live In Review

Man! What can I REALLY say about this film? Well first off it's the most bizarre movie I've ever seen since that scene on Pulp Fiction where Bruce & Ving gets raped in that hill billy pawn shop! Yep, it's THAT weird left field sh** that slightly believable only cause we've heard weirder s**t on the news. Anyway without given too much of the plot away, Puss in boots...sorry Antonio Banderas plays a highly respected, well paid doctor who's lost everything and is trying to play God by getting it all back. Experimenting a new skin grafting technique that uber controversial in his field. But that's just the surface stuff. The movie covers EVERYTHING from rape (twice in the movie), murder, adoption, abandonment, kidnapping, voyeurism, egotism, over parenting, and THEN some! If you don't leave the theater with your jaw wide open then you walked into the WRONG film my friend! Check yo ticket stub! This is by far one of the strangest twist I've ever encountered watching a film...and I applaud! I'm giving this 4 1/2 M's outta 5!

"Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt. 269)

With just TWO Days to find a new location "Prim & Proper" went back to it's roots of being an actual "flash mob" last Monday when we invaded Hotel Chantelle's roof top restaurant lounge! It was 80% of our usual mad house capacity, but BOY were folks jamming! What helped with another successful episode was the abundance of birthdays being celebrated (namely Athena's & Fifi's) that brought out folks way pass our normal cut off time. By the reaction of the folks that turned out I think we may have found a NEW home of this dress up dinner series folks are lovin'.
