"Heard Any Good Tip's Lately?" -Q-Tip Show & Mini Album Review

Question, are you planning to attend that Q-Tip show at the Nokia Theater tonight? Well I guarantee you that you won't have to wait on any long lines, and have to fight your way to the front of the stage to get "Tip Juice" splashed on you (ummm, by that I mean sweat folks, you nasty). Oh...how come? Simple, it's not gon' be there tonight. Yep, no lie it's been moved to the Highland Ballroom venue to accommodate the turn-out expected. So don't head over to the Nokia, ticket in hand, in the bleeding cold, sitting out front looking stupefied. I TOLD you man in advance! Thank me l8r.

Tues. Dec 2nd

"2K Sports Bounce Tour"
Q-Tip and The Cool Kids
w/ The Knux and Pacific Division

*Moved from Nokia Theatre to Highline Ballroom.

All tickets honored.*

"Abstract Art"- The Renaissance Review
Have you picked it up yet? Okay, but have you LISTENED to it? I mean sit down and give it your utmost attention? Nice right? It's good to know that he still respects the craftsmanship of rapping and still knows that you can push the boundaries and come out on top. Off the bat, the two dance floor fillers I dig are "Gettin' Up!" (which is the 1st single) and "Move" (that samples "Dancing Machine" by the Jackson 5 quite nicely). If you've been missing and longing for a Tribe reunion you'll still have to wait. Dang! He could've thrown Phife on at least ONE joint right?! Come on, 8 bar even? Lol, go get it NOW!

"Don't Believe Everything You Read..." -Tabloids Live @ Rock the Block Bk

Here's just ONE of the reasons why "Rock the Block BK" last Saturday was such a success! Watch and understand why I LOVE what I do. Sure...I do it for the people, but can't I enjoy the fruits of my labor too. Jesse KILLS it on this one. I'm just glad someone YouTube'd it. Repeat after me, "I will NEVER miss another Jeese Boykins III show EVER!"

"Flashing Lights"-Paparazzi Pics (Pt. 21...and Over)

"All the girls standing in the line for the Bathroom..." I can't get that outta my head now man. Anyway yesterday I stopped through to the "Everybody Nose" video shoot set yesterday, to get the Minority's point of view, and to take some shots to blog to give you guys an inside scoop. As I walked in two dimes were off to the side with a second director "sexing the camera up" by blowing bubbles into the lens (see pic below). I quickly pulled out my 17 (mm camera) and started busting off shots like I was at a Brooklyn basement jam (lol)! Soon after Chad (1/3 of the N.E.R.D's) walked in a caught a "shot" to the face too. Now a bit more comfortable, I worked my way around the room for more candid "sniper" shots of the extras. Once I said what blog the pictures would be featured on, it was a different world "Whitley" (lol) Folks gave praise and it was all gravy (no beef) from there on. Word is a major fight broke out, to where medical assistance was needed. But I was long gone by then...damn right?

"Guess Who's 'Bach?" Rick Ross & Jay-Z Make "Drive By" Maybach Music

These two have been transporting "keys" and "bars" between NYC and MIA ever since "Boss Ross" got signed to the Def Jam designer (record) label. And each time the exchange has been SWEET! This is the 1st single off "Trilla" Rick Ross' upcoming CD release.
Now ride to it.

"Ol' School, New School Need to Learn..." Pt.3

There is nothing like a good "city pride" song. Especially when the song is so hot that a whole 'nother coast is claiming the state even in a time of war (West coast V.S. East coast)
Word has it that the song was originally slated to be featuring Dr. Dre and Dr. Dre only. But Suge (Knight) felt 2Pac needed a strong "coming home" single once released from prison. So "California Love" got elected to be his 1st single off his album. What helped in the success of the song no doubtingly was the high-budgeted concept video that accompanied the song. Directed by Hype Williams, the video starring Chris Tucker (Friday) George Clinton, and Roger Troutman (who sings the hook) was a play on the Mad Max movies theme that featured a younger Mel Gibson. The song sampled for the hit was "Woman to Woman" by Joe Crocker. In which he croons that he "gets around", way before the late 2Pac did.

"The Geek Squad" -New N*E*R*D* Music

The ever eclectic group N*E*R*D* returns to the billboards with the 1st single off their highly-anticipated 3rd album N.3.R.D titled "Everyone Nose." Now let me forewarn you it's not the expected quirky Rock sound we've grown to luv from these guys, but you'll dig it none the less. Nerds gotta stick together right. Here's some "nose" candy for your ears.

"Erykah's New Buzz Cut" - HONEY

Over the holidays, I was badly
bedridden with some cold/flu like sickness for 2 weeks
straight, that had me
downing a warm honey
and raspberry tea concoction, like it was a huge cooler
getting dunked on a winning coach's head by his team.
So I'm pretty familiar with the stuff Erykah Badu
is crooning about. Yet she seems to make it sound SO much sweeter. If you haven't heard already, or simply not read this blog your reading right now, Ms. Badu has got some new tunes 'bout to drop. Here's the first single, wanna hear it...
well here it go.

"Run" Tell Dat-Gnarls Barkley Returns

Trying to find leaked, bootlegged, live or even voice recording of these cats on the Internet is like looking for "Morpheus" inside the "Matrix!" Can't explain how they manage to do it, in a time where another artist's whole album gets posted on the net... Gnarls Barkley are digital ghost (lol). Crazy huh? No pun intended..well maybe (sue me.) But at last patience prevails, because today I finally got a glimpse of hope that one of few favored groups I actually long to hear has a song circulating the "waves" now. After the first listen, then running the song back twice before I formed an unbiased opinion. I gotta, say number one, that I like it. And secondly it reminds me of something that would've gotten into the Cloverfield soundtrack, or at least the end credits. Here you have a listen, I'm not stingy wit mine.

OOPS (I spoke too soon, file has been removed, sorry)
