"Wave Ya Hands, If You Feel Me!" -Top Ten Things You'll Likely Hear At An R&B Concert

Every year I attend my fair share of live music outings that one can take in. But after a few, you start to see (or hear in this case) a common pattern shared among each and every artist performing. So if you go to a TON of concerts like I do, OR you're an up & coming singer and need a on stage dialogue "how to" here's a list of on stage cliches'

1. "Sound man, can you turn the sound/my mic up a lil' bit in the monitors?"
2. "How many single ladies in the house tonight?"
3. "If you know the song sing along OR clap your hands!"
4. "I heard [name the city] had the livest crowd!"
5. In the middle or end of the show, name each band member
6. Mention you have a new album that's coming out or IS out.
7. Ask "How many of you got the latest album?" then joke "Now how many of you downloaded the bootleg?"
8. Point to random chick in the crowd and say "This song is for YOU!"
9. The crowd randomly shouts out songs that they wanna hear the artist perform.
10. Artist teases "This is my LAST song for the night." only to come back to do a THREE more songs!

Leave a comment OR e-mail me if you think of any I might've forgotten (LOL) TheMreport@gmail.com Thank you and GOODNIGHT! *drops mic & raises hands!

"Pimpin' Ain't Easy!" -It's Showtime At the Bowery Ballroom

New York, NY- The Pimps of Joytime are returning home to kick off a summer tour at the Bowery Ballroom on THIS Saturday (June 9th). They blew the roof off in January, over selling the room by two hundred tickets. Their show at the Bowery in January jump-started what has been a whirlwind of a year. So in the spirit of this homecoming show, Pimps Of Joytime has asked some of his friends and colleagues that have been with him since the beginning to join him on the bill. NYC dance floor legend, DJ Nickodeamous, Electro Bomb droppers, Navegante and newcomers Yulix-and-the-eXtended-family will bring their flavor to the night. The Pimps Of Joytime promises to bring a soulful, groove infused set that will uplift an eager fan base.

"Can You Hear Me Now!" -Jesse Boykins III Live @ Millsime Lounge / Carlton Hotel

I'm sitting scratching my head trying my best to remember the last time I caught a Jesse Boykins III show in NYC. Whatever the date, I KNOW it's been a minute! So when I heard that he was to perform at Millsime (located inside the Carlton Hotel) I made it my business to attend! Besides it was nice outside that day AND I needed something (ANYTHING!) that made me feel like I didn't waste my weekend in the crib the whole time. I'll admit I didn't stick around for the entire show but here's some images I was luck enough to capture while I was there...ENJOY!

"One Lucky S.O.B." -Bilal Live @ S.O.B.'s Valentine's Day Night

Almost a month ago, a couple of Tuesdays past (Valentine's Day to be exact), I treated myself to catch a "holiday" concert appearance by the soul stylistic singer Bilal.  Not only was it a PACKED to the brim house, even the reserve seating was TIGHT! Kudos to the wait staff that was able to maneuver their way through that restless crowd. Skillful indeed. Anyways, after a 1hr. 1/2 wait for show time he FINALLY took stage and destroyed any worries that it would be good. Now I've seen Bilal WAY TOO many times that I can count but yet I was STILL impress by the set and musicianship his band displayed! Awesomeness! Well if you missed it you can count on me to bring you not only pictures this time but some video clips as well! ENJOY!

"Made You Look...Again!" -Artful Dodgers' Organized Chaos Musical Mash Up!

Ok you got Game Rebellion, Navegante', Ninjasonik, Oxymoron, Roxy, Hank & Cupcakes, the ENTIRE Artful Dodger staff, and about 200 hungry eager music fans and you have the ingredients for a quite riot! Well that was the scene last week at Lit Lounge for A.D.'s "When Worlds Collide!" musical mash-up! It was hot like "the Devil on summer vacation down in Arizona" type heat up in there, but folks (literally) sweated it out and endured the "Easy Bake Oven" temperatures. Here the highly awaited picture AND video (yep!) set to Nas' hit song "Made You Look" Peep it, Like it, and Spread it! S/O to Just C. and Solo (lead video girl)
