"Jamaica Not So Nice!" -Cleaning Up the Yard!

Yo! You remember this joint right HERE! This ad did for Jamaica what that damn grill did for George Foreman! I heard stories about guys booking flights all the way out to the "Yard" (one way tix mind you)
and getting off the plane holding up the poster asking "Yo, WHERE can I find this girl?" With Billy Ocean's "Caribbean Queen" blasting in their headphones (LOL). Nowadays "Yankees" of a different kind are coming out to "Jam Rock" holding up a different kind of poster! A WANTED one! For Christopher "Dudus" Coke, wanted in the U.S. on gun and drug trafficking charges! Reports out of Kingston last Tues. say that "Dudus" has been arrested finally. After damn near four days of gun battles between security forces and his supporters that left 76 people dead! I read somewhere that he was caught en route to the U.S. Embassy in Kingston accompanied by yet ANOTHER Rev. Al (no NOT the Rev. Al we all know). Admit it, it WOULD be mad funny if their Rev. Al was the Jamaican version of ours. LOL! Now outside of all this stuff happening down there, what I couldn't make sense of is WHY would a drug dealer go by the nickname "Dudus", if your last name was "Coke" ALREADY? "Chris Coke"... maybe? Just a suggestion rude boy! On another note, rumor has it that the young lady (well young at the time) pictured in the poster, is divorced w/ child. Owns a "on the low" good weed/bad roti spot, and is living on Kingston (Ave...in Brooklyn that is) and is working "Rihanna hard" to get back in shape for the anniversary version of this poster. MILF is chilling, Giz is chilling! What more can I say?

"Flashing Lights"-Paparazzi Pics (Pt.185)

How was your weekend? Fine? Oh mine? Mine was just SMASHING! Without getting into all the details, Let's just say Spring looks very PROMISING! If Winter is treating me this way. Anyways Sunday night I get an invite to say a heartfelt "goodbye but not so long" farewell to our homie Ms. Davita, who's relocating to "the A town" (aka Atlanta) to push reset on her life story. You know the new condo building located by the Manhattan Bridge off of Flatbush extension right? No not the Lego looking joint, but the other one right next to the Mobil gas station. Yeah that one! Well a gang of her closest pals all came together there to to send her off packing. Awww sad face. I attempted to play DJ with the ONE speaker present (that by the way was a SUB WOOFER!) which meant no highs what so ever! ALL BASS! It sounded like one of those hooptie rides with the sound system more expensive than the damn car, and all you hear coming down the block is "WOOM WOOM WOOMWOOM!" But I tried my best to make thangs work. After wards whom ever stuck around, or got there DUMB late (ummm Lyshann Hall/the Stylistics Agency & Rich Younglord/Producer extraordinaire) stayed to catch jokes on the Grammys show! Ahhhhh I love my life. It's the simple things I tell you. Here's some dope pics Ms. Stephanie O'Conner our resident budding photog took of some of the attendees there.

"Why You All In My Grill?" -Brooklyn's Largest Picnic Has A Date! Heatwave 9.0 Is Comin'

Okay for two months now folks have been "Googlin' " hard in search of the damn date this huge annually held picnic is being held that my good friends over at MIH Ventures does! You would think folks NEVER ate barbecued food before in their life! Well get the napkins ready cause guess what? I know exactly when it's going down. Yes, "Heatwave 9.0" (the 9th one as you can see based on the title) will be (drum roll please...) Sunday, July 19th this year. From what I know, it'll be held in the SAME location it's held EVERY year, which is the first big lawn in Prospect Park (Flatbush/BK library enterance). If you've never heard about this event or attended, prepare to be wowed by the sheer amount of people that you'll see. Tons of folks even come from across state line to attend. Bring a blanket and cheerful vibes, food is on them. Spread love is the Brooklyn way! 12PM-sunset.

"Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt.59)

They came, they saw, they conquered! Big up to the Far East rulers of Dancehall Mighty Crown (Japan) for tearing down the set Last Fri. at the return of White Shirt Blue Jeans! Each DJ set came with their own brand of flavor to the party to make this a memorable night.
I never really was a avid fan of Reggae, but trust me even if you're not, the energy level in there was contagious. Plus it's kinda hard (pun intended) not to get into it when some "Daisy Duke's" wearing dime is winding slow on your "love muscle"...Feel me? However the (weirdest) musical highlight of the night was when DJ Magic threw on the theme from "Fresh Prince of Bel-air" and "Family Guy" that sparked a spontaneous sing-along. I was a bit disappointed to be honest, by the lack of participation as far as the dress theme goes. It was made real simple for a reason people...White Shirt Blue Jeans...How hard is that to follow?
Sound Proof showed and proved with a ol' school Rockers set that had folks reminiscing hard. I am now a HUGE fan. The Brooklyn Circus would like to give thanks all those that came out rocking their tees and all sponsors involved for their support. Big up yourself, if you were in attendance rude boy/girl! This was HISTORY! Seen?
