"I Wanna Rock (& Bowl) Right Now! -The Mother Of All Bowling Parties

Okay so SUNDAY (May 9th Mother's Day) is just days away, so I felt it was necessary to hip you to the "Game" (pun intended) on exactly WHAT IS going down, if you plan on attending. So take a moment to get a pen (now it's iCal on your smart phone I guess) and jot down these pointers so you can get the most out of this FREE(!) event.

1) "Rock & Bowl" starts @ 6pm, however Brooklyn Bowl doors open at 12 noon. It's 21+ w/ID once our event begins.

2) The performances originally was to start at 8pm. However the 11th hour addition of actor Malik Yoba (of NY Undercover & Why Did I Get Married 1&2 fame) has confirmed that he WILL be performing(!?!) as well! So 7pm is NOW the showtime! Don't miss that folks.

3) BK Bowl has 16 lanes in total. and it's $20 per half an hour on Sundays. Lanes go pretty quick, so arrive early if you're looking to bowl! Wear socks for those icky bowling shoes that they give you. Ewww!

4) We're expecting a HUGE turnout! Reasons being that this was promoted EVERYWHERE in all the media outlets! Secondly, each act has their own devoted group of loyal followers. We'll have at least 4-5 B'days being celebrated that night. AND must I remind you, I just mentioned MALIK YOBA will be in the building! So nuff gal a come out to see mi brethren! PLUS Brooklyn Bowl get's their own crowd of Sunday regulars on top of ALL THAT! So once again come EARLY! We KNOW it's Mother's Day and all, but s#*t bring ya Momma if ya have too! LOL! But please DON'T bring the kids! Especially if they're not mine!

5) NO outside drinks and food! They have the 3 star Blue Ribbon restaurant in house PLUS two bars sooo...You're good on that.

6)We'll have the Block Association's step and repeat set up w/ Stephanie O'Conner doing photo duties through out the night capturing the moment. Tips ARE welcome! (Wink)

7) In between the acts and immediately after the show, the Block Heads (DJ Trauma & Frei) will "Go In" turning the event into a straight PARTY after the concert is done. So we will more than likely go till 1:30 am if the vibe is looking RIGHT and folks hang out to stick around.

8) Between the times of 8pm till 10pm whoever has the highest bowling score will get a "swag bag" full of goodies courtesy of the Block Association & our affiliate boutiques.

9) Remember though this IS a FREE and casual event, don't come out to attend looking...well...just WRONG! Dress like the inner rock star that you are! "Spunk Punk" it up and have fun wit' it!

10)Lastly free LIL' WAYNE! What? I'm just sayin...

"Flashing Lights"-Paparazzi Pics (Pt.185)

How was your weekend? Fine? Oh mine? Mine was just SMASHING! Without getting into all the details, Let's just say Spring looks very PROMISING! If Winter is treating me this way. Anyways Sunday night I get an invite to say a heartfelt "goodbye but not so long" farewell to our homie Ms. Davita, who's relocating to "the A town" (aka Atlanta) to push reset on her life story. You know the new condo building located by the Manhattan Bridge off of Flatbush extension right? No not the Lego looking joint, but the other one right next to the Mobil gas station. Yeah that one! Well a gang of her closest pals all came together there to to send her off packing. Awww sad face. I attempted to play DJ with the ONE speaker present (that by the way was a SUB WOOFER!) which meant no highs what so ever! ALL BASS! It sounded like one of those hooptie rides with the sound system more expensive than the damn car, and all you hear coming down the block is "WOOM WOOM WOOMWOOM!" But I tried my best to make thangs work. After wards whom ever stuck around, or got there DUMB late (ummm Lyshann Hall/the Stylistics Agency & Rich Younglord/Producer extraordinaire) stayed to catch jokes on the Grammys show! Ahhhhh I love my life. It's the simple things I tell you. Here's some dope pics Ms. Stephanie O'Conner our resident budding photog took of some of the attendees there.

"Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt.159)

Let me first start off by saying, I LOVE when this event (MIH' s "Heatwave 9.0") comes around! I'm always in shear awe of the growing volume of people that attend each year. This year was no let down (number wise that is). Folks showed up far in wide to support and continue the tradition of Brooklyn love fest/reunion of lost friends. This is the only other event besides "Rock The Block BK"(Sat. Aug. 15th) that's viewable through Goggle Earth maps! No lie, at least 3,000 plus people were out there! And if the sun didn't set, I'm sure more wouldv'e been on the way via the tweets and mass texting that "This $#1t is BANANAS!" that I'm certain you received as well as I did. I saw folks from all levels of schools I attended. Old beefs , new beefs, haters, congratulaters, one- nighters, all-nighters, never agains, Baby mommas, baby momma mommas, dead beat daddies...they ALL were out there, if you could find them among the throngs of people that is. I was unspoken "Don't f**k this up for everybody" policy about the vibe out there. And for good reason, it was a damn good look! Amongst our camp set up was stylist Groovey Lou, Alador & Smith, Silky (of Soundproof Intl), Beckenberg, DJ Hard Hittin' Harry, Raye 6, Tiff (Butch Diva), Print, DJ Self, Lyshaan Hall (the Stylistics Agency) and a bunch more enjoying the event and each others company. However on a sadder note, tons of discarded trash was left but a few disrespectful attendees that left a bad stain (pun intended) on the days event. With made the paper and I'm yes me, is getting flack for it like I was responsible just simply cause I blogged about it!?! Click HERE to read about it. When leaving the BBQ, I had noticed in the far distance an Native American Indian shaking his head, crying when he saw all the trash left! That's how I knew things were bad. You'll be hearing from Woodsy the Owl ("Give a hoot, don't pollute!") and Smokey the Bear ('Don't burn trees") via a press release about this soon, trust me. If you left your mess, you're the hot mess! You're banned next year.
