"Harry (Trailer) Nuts"- New Harry Potter Trailer for "Half-Blood Prince"

I'll be the first to confess, I've NEVER read one book of the cult phenom followed Harry Potter books. But I HAVE seen each and every movie that came out based on those books. So I am a fan of the series, though a late one. Well there's something I found for those like me that enjoy the films to get excited about. It's the lastest trailer for the "Half-Blood Prince." Hopefully it'll surpass the former ones and not be "Half-Bad" or "Half-Ass" LOL. Watch it in the dark!

"If The Spirit Moves You..." -New Frank Miller Thiller

I LOVE Frank Miller (No homo)! He is to me one of the most dynamic voices in comic book history, or even fiction for that matter. His style is uniquely his own, however now that's he's begun his foray into film making (300 & Sin City), I'm not so sure about the "literal" image translation to the big screen. It begins to look too stylized for my taste, and may detract from the actual story being told. But that's just my opinion, here's a taste of what I mean. Here's the trailer for the Spirit. (*FYI he's was even the inspiration for Kiser's latest designs -see site)

"They Shooting...I Made You Look!"-Black on Black Film

Usually in my neck of the woods when young cats are "shooting", people tend to run the opposite direction. However when it's for a NEW movement in film, then folks are slow to run towards it. But not in this case. On a cloudy Sun morn, the Coup d'Etat Crew was rolling film on another indy project. I can't give away the synopsis quite yet but come screening time I'll send out an invite. Also look for the Minority Report's cameo debut.

"Some Notorious Acting to Do" -B.I.G. Gets Played

So there you have it my friends. You are now look the future of rap(ping actors that is). Jamal "Gravy" Woolard has officially received his SAG card the other day, when it was announced that he will be playing the lead role in the upcoming biographical film based on the late rapper the Notorious B.I.G. "Gravy"s only other scripted role to date, was the incidence at HOT97 radio station, were he was at the receiving end of a bullet...in the rapper's crapper ("Who shot ya?"). So this will be his first ON-SCREEN appearance, that we know of. This is all well and fine, but what I'm really waiting to hear is, who's taking on the role of Faith (I vote Lauren London) or even Lil' Kim for that matter? Either way "the Bootleg man" got my money EARLY on this one! Umm...I wonder if he got "Shottas 2" maybe?
Give me both and they BETTER be clear!

"The Wraith of Will"- Will.I.am in Wolverine Film

Well this shouldn't be a big surprise, being that Hollywood is always trying to encourage the merging of musicians and movies. In hopes that fans of the artist are ravenous enough to plunk down duckets to see he or she on the big screen. Will.i.am has been recently cast to play a character named John Wraith, in the in-production film X-Men: Wolverine, who has powers to teleport much like and another X-men character, Nightcrawler. Could he be playing his dad?
(I see some resemblance...some.)
We all figured Will was a mutant, but an ACTOR?!?
It's funny how he was casted as a person that possesses the power to disappear at will, and that's basically what alot of people wish he did for real...and take Fergie with him (lol)

"Holly-hood"- Doubt films in Brooklyn

When returning home from some forgettable event I had attended that evening, I stopped to notice the numerous amounts of hot pink postings taped to every single lamp post I pasted. On closer inspection, it read that there is to be
"NO PARKING" on Sunday Evening (6am-8pm),
due to the fact that a movie production company would be filming in and around my 'Stuy. I managed to take one down, to bring home to do more research. After some intense "googling" I came to find that "Doubt" began as a novel, then became a hit play on B'way. And now they're givin' it the silver screen treatment. The casted lead actors are some heavy hitters too,
Oscar winners
Meryl Streep and Phillip Seymour Hoffman and a few others I don't really know or care to mention. Here's a tidbit what the movies about:

Set at a Catholic school in the Bronx* in 1964, Doubt concerns an older nun (Streep), who does not approve of teachers' offering friendship and compassion over the discipline she feels students need in order to face the harsh world. When she suspects a new priest (Hoffman) of sexually abusing a black student, she is faced with the prospect of charging him with unproven allegations and possibly destroying his career as well as her own. Oscar worthy right!
(*When did the Bronx ever look like Brooklyn?)

If you dig watching film production, hopeful of being an extra, autograph seeker, live in the neighborhood and wanna know, or simply just nosey,
Here are the dates and locations they'll be filming:
Mon. Jan 28th-Fri. Feb 4th 6am-8am
Nostrand Ave. betwn Jefferson and Macon
Halsey betwn. Marcy and Arlington Place
Hancock betwn. Nostrand and Marcy
Macon betwn. Nostrand and Verona Place
McDonough St. betwn.Tompkins and Marcy
