A ways back an acquaintance of mine (Dinna Alexanyan) hit me up to inquire if I know anyone that was interested in submitting any erotic style art be it, poetry, film, photographs, etc. I asked "You starting a porn book or something?" and the reply was that it was for a contest that showcased amateurs being creative through the erotic genre. I tossed my hat into the ring with one of my past videos shot earlier this year and long story short...I WON! So my winning video will be featured TOMORROW in the showcase as well as the other winning entrees in their perspective genres. So come out and support! Hopefully the prize was a NEW camera (Canon 60D or 7D)...I'm JUST sayin'! Here's my trophy piece, make such the bosses don't see you watching this on the gig. "You Got Served!" -How To Attend A Plate Date W/ (Block) Boys To (Journ3y) Men...PROPER!

So you've NEVER been to a dinner party huh? EVER? In life?!? Well not to put you on blast but, HOW old are you again? LOL I'm joking (eh, half joking) but please by all means, we're welcoming newbies all the same. We're here to uplift one another correct? Cool! Anyways some of you may have had questions about what's going down tonight even though you RSVP'd and didn't even bother to read the details OR just honestly (or ignorantly...I kid again) don't know WHAT a dinner party (rather THIS dinner party) what's to be expected. So here I am to fill you in and UP!

Q. Is there a cover AND food and drink charge?
A. There is NO COVER what so ever! However your bill for what you consume is on YOU player! Unless someone pulls that black card out on us blacks, then THAT'S a different story altogether! Then we "...Out here ballin'! I know you hear my sneaks!"

Q. Is it expensive? Will I have to take a loan out to eat?
A. Prices are about average for a restaurant of this caliber. Most dishes start from $12-$48 dollars. Drinks $12-$22 per glass Rosay about $110 a bottle & Veuve is $85

Q.Location again PLEASE?
A. Beauty & Essex is ON Essex St. in the Lower East Side off of Rivington St. We'll be occupying the WHOLE top floor lounge, once you pass the door after the pawn shop (YES! Pawn shop) inside.

Q. Can I wear jeans? What about sneaks?
A. HELL YEAH! You CAN wear those, but you won't be getting in here! Perhaps there's a sports bar that's open across the street. They'll GLADLY take your business. Game time! Seriously though, the point is to be as dressy as YOU feel you can be. It's the time to wear that "I never get to wear this" attire. Decadence can NEVER be hated on. Bad shoes can though.

Q.Is this a sit down dinner thing? And will I be able to shake my ass?
A. Ummm WHO eats standing up idiot? Sorry that was harsh...dummy! Seating is first come first serve due to the amount of people expected to attend. So be patient! And YES people, the "party" part of "dinner party" means that there WILL be a DJ playing tunes...four in fact! FreelikeFrei, DJ CEO may play a guest set, DJ Trauma, and even myself perhaps. So yeah.

Q. Why a dinner party? What's the reasoning behind it?
A. We were thinking "F**K IT! Why NOT?" We gather together for all types of frivolous occasions, why not do it to toast black/brown excellence while we're still at the age to enjoy the s**t! Ain't no other feeling of DOPENESS! like looking around a room filled with affluent, well dressed, intelligent black/brown folks! No birthdays have to be involved, just toasting to LIFE and all that you can accomplish in it. Besides our people like to EAT, just as much as we like to party...If not more! Our motto is; "The fruits of my labor are grapes, and I'm about to make wine and toast" -the Block Boys

Q. I heard somewhere that there's champagne served in the ladies room. True?
A. Damn! You thirsty for drinks like THAT? Yes that is correct, but they ALSO have mints try some of those out TOO!

Q.Would I be judged at the next social gathering, if I leave with a different guy than I came there with?
A. Well NOT by me fo sho (hoe)! If one of the guys you leave with is one of the Block Boys or Journ3y Men...well HEY (hoe)! Blame it on all that free liquor you drank from the bathroom to ya man the NEXT morning! Good NIGHT (hoe)!

Okay this was our second time at bat, hosting an event at the World Bar (in Trump Towers) and it was remarkably even BETTER than the first time! DJ CEO filled in for DJ Trauma who was filling in for DJ Clue who was MIA (no LITERALLY he was in MIA)! But as usually Frei did a superb job of warming patrons up till CEO hit the set and ripped the dance floor a new a**hole! The Journ3y Men made a guest cameo appearance and had some great looking women in tow (S/O to Doc & Logan...wink). What took this party over the top was the dope 80's set spun that night! Yeah we know it was Labor Day weekend but for that moment in time the Parkway was the furthest from folks mind! Anyways if you miss this one we'll definitely be back here THIS Saturday 9/10 for the 2nd Annual "VIRGOS NIGHT OUT" affair that packs the city's top fashionable Virgos (and the folks the love them) under one roof! Early time 9pm-3am this time around too!

"Hold Up! Wait A Minute!" -Any Given Sundae On Pause, So Put Down Your Forks!

Grave news folks! Our uber Sunday brunch soiree' "Any Given Sundae" (that WAS set to launch this Sunday July 31st) will be delayed sorta like how "Watch The Throne" was however like pre-sales you can STILL RSVP here on Facebook, so you'll be the very first to know the official official kick off date! Word is the chef (& NO that's not him pictured) is still working on a few signature dishes to perfection to set the menu apart from these other lame-o brunches just trying to get you drunk on the Lord's rest day. LMAO SoCo wants your experience to be the great FOOD that soaks up all that liquor that keeps you coming back! Yet they DO have a rather tasty sangria & apple crumb Mimosa. I hope that that's NOT the chicken (pictured) that they plan on serving with the red velvet waffles that they have over there!!! PLEASE we're asking for your patience, we're waiting to make this happen just like you! If you ever pass by SoCo ask them "Where's the brunch?"

"Men In Black!" -The Block Boys On A #HotelFlow Tour!

So about two Mondays ago the Block Boys (the Block Association men) invaded the Influence Series (3.0) curated by Mike Mancini & DJ CEO hosted at the TriBeca Grand Hotel on Mondays. So if you know ANYTHING about the Block one thing for sure is that we like to do things BIG! A CC e-mail floated around about our look for the night, and the "Reservoir Dogs" look came up the clear winner (I was rooting for that anyways). The occasion was that this very blog and myself were being honored for being a staple in our social circle, so damn near the WHOLE team (Frei, Carlito, Che Davis, Cory, Keith Major, Silky Valente' and DJ Trauma *not pictured) & extended family and friends came out to support the cause. After the celebration we moved the whole bloodclot squad over to Beauty & Essex for a late night bite and more laughs, and an extended b'day party for our newest homegirl Danielle Chase!
