"Flashing Lights"-Paparazzi Pics (Pt. 20)

Tues. past I stopped by the Kicksclusive Magazine event at Manor that was sorta packed despite the heavy down pour outside. What was dope about it was that they had a pop-up Nike I.D. shop inside the lounge, for those special" party goers that need some custom made sneaks, before they reached home, to dream about them that night (lol).
I also hit up Retreat later the same night which DJ Peter Rosenberg was spinning some dope grooves at along with DJ Treats. Good (1st night) look fellas.

"Brooooklllynn Ballin'"-Kanye hosts Brooklyn Ball in the Brooklyn Museum

Now I predicted this was gonna happen...I was just hoping it was gonna happen the day that I was attending. DAMN! Anyway, this Thurs. at the Brooklyn Museum of Arts, round my old stomping grounds on Eastern Parkway (famous for the yearly Labor Day parade) they'll be hosting a sold-out private affair for the pre-pre-opening for Saturday's big exhibit feat. famed Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. Noted for his recent work with luxury brand Louis Vuitton and Mr. (Kanye) West "Graduation" CD cover art.
I still have my fingers crossed that he'll do a cameo at the dinner reception on Fri. I'll be attending (so I can take pics...all for you of course). I'm now working on getting a management contact to invite the "West entourage" to stop through to "the Class Reunion" (at Scopello's) afterwards, just to WOW folks the eff out. Plus I'm sure he'll be using the name ("the Class Reunion") for a future CD title...So it's only right. Right?

"A Spike (TV) Joint"-Star Wars Debuts on Spike

Hey, you remember the cable channel some years back, that Spike Lee attempted to sue over the use to the name? Well, one he didn't win (bold move Spike) an two, (as you may have noticed from the barrage of all those subway ads) they'll be airing ALL 6 of the Star Wars episodes starting April 6th. Each episode will air an encore showing the very next day (as if an respectable Star Wars fan would miss the 1st airing). Props to the advertising agency that spear headed the ad campaign, they took a very effective comedic approach to their marketing plan.

These are a few of my favorite ones that I've seen round town. I'm sure they've been eyed by some fanatic collector that trying to figure out how to get their hands on one (lol) Enjoy and "May the Force be with you."

"America Gets A New State"-Tracy Ullman's New Sketch Com

I guess Black IS really the NEW Black huh? Looks like everyone is doing "black face" this year. First Robert Downey now Tracy Ullman in her new show to air on Shotime titled "State of the Union." Ummm, is it cool now after years of racial tension it caused in the past? I seriously doubt that one, especially being that when it's done it never a positive character portrayal. It's more like an excuse to play a sterotype by "gettting into character." I'd be all for it if it was a dramatic role and the actor like REALLY pulled it off to where color wasn't an issue an nailed it. Like Charlize Theron did in "Monster"...Unrecognizable. I'd be cool with that. I know a jokes a joke but...Who is it on?

"From the Root-er to the Tooter"-the Roots Listening Party Reveiw

Did I tell you about the Roots listening party I was "invited" to? No? Oh, my bad, it's probably cause I never got even near the door to the spot it was held at (lol). Man listen, it was all "fiasco but no Lupe" brother! I showed up at lil' late (about a half an hr.) due to the fact that I was hoping to avoid the "beginner's rush" 7:30 start up time listed on the invite. No sir, that was a dead issue cause upon walking up to the address they give, you woulda thought that there was a FREE Playstation 4 giveaway going down...with a iPhone to boot. My only thought was "I hope folks line up like this to vote for Obama." Peep the madness (meaning, the only two pics) that was going on below.

"Ring Ring Ha Ha"-Prank Calls

It's S.O.S. for AT&T! Verizon, you're going down! And Sprint, you'll be "run" outta town by sundown! News is that the two largest North American gas companies, Mobil and Shell, are trying to cut in on the booming cell phone biz and "pump" up the competitive market. The two conglomerates have joined forces to start producing their own line of multi-tasking phones. And you don't have to guess hard the ingenious name they've decided on..."the Mobil Shell phone." Early reports say that the flip phone will resemble the clam'ed shaped logo of Shell and the blue hue color way (with a dash of red) of the Mobil logo. "Fill'er up cards" is the confirmed name for pay-as-you-go subscribers to the new phones. "Diesel, Unleaded, and Regular" are also names being tossed around for monthly plans. I can just hear Funkmaster Flex shouting the ads "Don't get GASSED!" Hahahaha
April's Fool folks enjoy it with your favorite fool.

"From JP to BK With ❤"- Japanese Artist Murakami Invades Brooklyn

If this art work looks vaguely familiar to you, it maybe because it was created by the same artist who did the art conception for Kanye's "Graduation" CD cover art. The name's Takashi Murakami, get familiar with it cause he'll be in Brooklyn for quite some time from next week to Summer. Well not so much him, but his "works of imagination" will be on display at the highly underrated Brooklyn Museum of Art starting in April (through till July). You may have also seen his designs gracing the "it" Louis Vuitton bags (both the real and bootlegged versions) a couple of seasons ago.
*BTW There'll be a pop-up LV shop inside the museum, selling limited edition collaborative items of the lux brand, while they're hosting his exhibit. So if your girl "suddenly" wants to take a unplanned museum trip, leave the card with the small limit (and big interest) at home.

"Move Bitch, Get Out the Way!"-Paparazzi Pics (Pt. 20)

People, please when I post an event on the Minority Report trust me it's NOT for my health! I've done the research and it's highly approved. I'm only saying this because, I know you missed the "Down-N-Derby" (@ Studio B) event last Friday night. How do I know this? Cause I didn't see your face in the place. It was only $5 dollars (w/rsvp) folks, but the fun was PRICELESS! Kudos to Anthony for the outstanding music selections, good looking out Vince for the line cut and V.I.P. treatment, and what up to Tone from Photos by Tone. Dope shots! Well, here's what I captured on film.
