"Action Figure$" -Washinton & Law Wanna Piece Of The Action

I doesn't take a movie insider whiz to know that big action flicks are where the molah's at. Just look at the success of Avatar, or even Will Smith. Folks are not lining up just to see his acting prowess. For $12 a tix (sometimes more) folks wanna SEE what they paid for on screen. Every red cent. Especially if you're on a date and you're tying to score, a good movie will make things go even smoother right? Well anyways, here's two more actors that are throwing their hats into the action ring for the first time. Their new motto "M.O.B.B." money over being broke. LOL!

"Brooklyn Bad Boys, Bad Boys! Whachu Gonna Do?" -Brooklyn's Finest Trailer

DUDE! Do you know how SERIOUS this movie is going to be?!? Wait...Did you peep the cast line up? Richard Gere! Don Mother f**kin' Cheadle! Ethan Hawke & God d#@m (I STILL owe the tax man) Wesley Snipes yo! Then you got Brooklyn as the storyline setting! I see an Oscar waiting for the title alone (if they ever started giving them out for titles lol). Mind you this film is directed by Antoine Fuqua (not Fisher) who killed it with Denzel on Training Day. You can count my ticket SOLD for this one already! But ummm, I'm NOT seeing this one in Brooklyn though. Oh HELL no! You know how BK act up! LOL! Peep the trailer. And they BETTER have this song on the soundtrack too.

"Mo' Better Than Ever!" -Spike Sings The Blues

Hard to believe that next year will make it ten years since Spike Lee released one of my favorite film of his, "Mo' Better Blues". I recently ran across this trailer that ran on TV before the movie came out, that's still dope to this day! I've been meaning to pick up the DVD to this for the longest, maybe I'll get around to doing just that today...Maybe. Anyway reminesce with me.

"My Man..." -American Gangster on DVD

No this is not a late posting, I'm announcing the release of the movie studio's version, not the bootleg you already own (lol). I'm referring to the one that the Oscar Academy has overlooked to nominate Denzel (and Russell) this year to be Best Actor, or even Best Film (props to Ruby Dee though, for oldest nominated Best Supporting Actress, 'bout time). Some folks I spoke to about the film were a bit disappointed by the over all story and portrayal of Frank Lucas' character. I feel that they went into the theater expecting to see "African-American" Gangster, an anti-hero to replace years of idolizing Cuban immigrant turn drug-lord Tony Montana (Scarface). But instead got "the business thug" perspective on the silver screen. Well I say to them "Boo F'ing Hoo!" Me, personally I dug the refreshing change from the expected scenes of violence usually associated with this genre. It was one of Denzel's better acted roles in a minute. I'm pretty sure the DVD will be released with a two-disc collectors version with all the bells and whistles that fans like in their special features.
