"Why Kick Rocks, When You Can Kick Balls!" -BK Fit Brings Back A Childhood Favorite Pastime

Okay WHAT is going ON people?!? First the guys in the Block Association form a seniors B-ball league with the private ambulance on deck. Then this past week I get a text/Facebook invite to meet in the park for a game of KICK-BALL (?) by the (seldom seen, often heard) female member of the Block Association, Ngozi Odita!!! Honestly my first reaction was like "WHAAA, good luck on that one!" But when Saturday morning rolled around and I was still amp'd up from all the Red Bull and Henny from Luke's Place that previous night, I was like "Hey I'm up already, and I'm dying to see WHO else was taking the BK Fit challenge!" So I hopped on my BK "Baby Boy" cruiser and got to the meet-up location about a half hour after the set time and was greeted by not 5, not 10, not 20, but ummm try 3 folks! Ngozi being one of that three (LOL). But as we entered the park, with some (well ALOT) of LOUD coaxing (mainly from yours truly) a few reluctant folks decided to "kick it" with us. You get it? "Kick it" with us...Kick-Ball...(pun intended). Anyways I pitched in and was the pitcher (you got that pun too), and the day turned out pretty FUN for all involved! Especially Ngozi! Oh BTW Ngozi, what the hell was up with all that sliding...to EVERY FREAKIN' base? Even "4th base" (inside joke) WTF?!?

"For Blocks And Blocks..." -Behind the Scene Pics Pre & Post "Fashion 500" Meetings

MEETINGS! MEETINGS! MEETINGS! It seems like er'ry other day my team the Block Association is having some type of meeting or other! Now don't get me wrong, I think meetings can be very proactive and I genuinely LOVE these folks but SHEESH! I think I see these guys more than my own family members sometimes! LOL! Below I've posted some "before & after" pics from two meetings in regards to "Fashion 500" and future projects down the pipeline. I think ONLY thing missing from our meets really is your personal input in the direction we should go in. Because in the interest of growth, we wanna continue bringing you mature sophisticated events that set the bar for our "still young at heart" age group (mid-twenties to late thirties set). I'll throw out a list of ideas we had and you give us feedback on if it's a sound one and we'll in turn start planning it based on your comments...Okay? Coolio!

the Block Association
is thinking about;

Spring/Summer roof top party series
A 4-5day vacation destination trip
An after work party for the fashionable set
A (liquor sponsored) dinner party series
And a HUGE concert style BBQ.

the Block Association is working on;

the Fort Greene Fest pre-party in May & concert in June

#Hookyparty -ala Ferris Bueller's day off style, where we'll form a coup and gather willing folks to take a day off and do a museum visit, park picnic, or a Blockbuster movie during a NICE warm day w/ a house party/BBQ to follow after (look for the #Hookyparty on FB and Twitter),

#PJammaJam - ala Kid n Play's House party / School Daze style, or better yet the #OneMoreChanceVideo we shot (peep HERE) but remixed w/ PJs! 80's-90's classics, invite ONLY! PJs will be a MUST for entree! Again look for the #PJammaJam on Twitter.

the return of "Any Given Sundae" -our Sunday evening collabo w/ MIH Ventures down on No.1 Front St. (in Dumbo) that had all of Bklyn talking last Summer! This time the series will start earlier in the season. Date to be determined soon.

And lastly our HUGE anniversary 4th of July weekend party which we will (hopefully fingers crossed) launching our NEW website BlockAssociation.TV

"Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt.213.1)

Okay so early on in the week I get this email about this dope Hugo Boss presented roof top event/concert featuring two of many favorite musical acts (Janelle Monae & Robin Thicke) are to perform at. The event fell on a Thurs. and I had yet to get a confirmation notice back (don't you hate that) saying I was good at the door. So what do I do? I show up ANYWAY! Frustrated that I had missed most of the Bilal concert earlier that day at Metrotech. I was DAMNED if was to miss this one too! 7:00pm was the start time so I was there at 6:30 sharp to avoid ANYTHING that resembled a line. Security was disorganized, so no one even bothered to check to see if my name was even on ANY list at all. And to make matters even sweeter, who but MARTHA freakin' STEWART gets off the elevator and starts a convo w/ me! Asking something like "Are you going to that event upstairs?" Me star stuck for I sec was like "Yep, sure am! You should come." She was all like "I wanna go but I'm SO tired, but enjoy Son!" I was like "Son?" So Martha is hood now? It was at time spent in jail...or maybe it was just an old woman saying. Who knows huh? Either way I was in and got a glass of Belvedere w/Red Bull from the open bar to celebrate. NICE! I like a dummy forgetting it IS a Hugo Boss event was a lil' "under dressed" but eff it I was there already so I'll get over the stares after throwing back a couple of "Dere's & Bull" Well here's the first half (yeah I took a bunch) of the flicks I took trying to capture as much of the events essence as possible cause I KNOW you which you was there! Enjoy suckers! Martha says "HI!"
