"Ft. Greene With Envy!" -Pics From Pt. 2 Of The Ft. Greene Fest Kick -Off Party

I KNOW you heard, read, attended, or couldn't get in to one of the HOTTEST (YES, both in buzz and f**kin temperature!) parties in Brooklyn this year! If you've been living in a window less mansion like Bin Laden, the party I'm talking about is the follow up event to the first Ft. Greene Fest kick-off event featuring Rich Medina & Ali Shaheed. This second one came even HARDER w/ Q-tip & Pete Rock turning the tables. Givin' cats pure HEAT (And speaking of the heat it was like one huge yoga class in that b**ch mannn! Why I'm mentioning this is cause I gotta say this was THEE most difficult parties I've EVER shot. Cause the damn lens would fog up like a fall night in London, making everything look like a person on a ruthie! I wasn't gonna post anything from that event but I WAS able to pull some quality pics from the rubble, though few. Anyways here they are, and FYI the actual Ft. Greene Fest is JUNE 25TH in Ft. Greene Park 12 noon-10pm (whew!) With an HISTORIC after party! Trust...

"We On To The X!" -X-Men First Class Reveiw

I haven't wrote a review in a minute huh? If I recall the last one was Hanna a while ago right? It's not like I haven't seen any new movies out (well ONE, that being Thor) I just wasn't inspired to review it that's all. But this one HERE is a totally different flex man. First off going in it was seen as the underdog of all the superhero based movies coming out, based on the past X-man failed adaptions and the hot mess of a movie Wolverine. So it's understandable why. And secondly, the trailer does no justice to the deeply involved story line this movie offers. Anyway long story short, this movie's first act of heroism was to SAVE the X-men franchise from ruin! To me it was like James Bond meets Inglorious Bastards meets Episode III :Revenge of the Sith and a lil' Austin Powers thrown in for good measure. It was word going around town that a Origins: Magneto movie was in the works, well this basically WAS that! Just that it was balanced with the start of the X-men thrown in. I followed the X-men heavy in the 80's, John Bryne era and even though the film changes stuff up for hard core fans to be mad at. You'll get over it once you admit this version is pretty damn good. Why such high praise? Well for me it answered so much stuff I never even thought to ask about the history of these misfit heroes. The Mansion/School concept, the Prof. X/Magneto former BFF relationship, the suit design, the Blackbird Jet...just ALOT of stuff dawg. There was even room for a surprise cameo of the most famous X-Men of all thrown in the mix too. Man, this Matthew Vaughn director should've BEEN on board for the past X-films! I'll admit that I clapped at the last 2o mins. of this films climactic Mexican stand-off between mutants vs mutants vs Americans vs Russians vs mutants...pure DOPENESS! 4 out of 5 M's as in mutants for this one! X marks the spot!

Peep these alternate (IE cooler) movie posters.

"Start It Up! Vroom Vroom!" -A Video Salute To The Start Of Summer

"Been around the world and I I I!" Man being a socialite, ESPECIALLY in Brooklyn, is HARD dawg! I often forget all I've been invited too and attended in a week. Thank goodness for my trusty Canon T2I cause now I can capture all that I see and share it. Besides, a brother gettin' old man! This often helps to jar my memory just looking back at the footage. However now to keep thangs entertaining, I use an old favorite jam of mine to use as the soundtrack to the mayham. Enjoy folks, you & I are not getting an younger. So here's a quick montage of just within the last two weeks of stuff I've attended.

"Best In Show" -Year End Exhibit At Columbia Universary

Constantly on a hunt for inspiring images I found some in the most unlikely of places...my JOB! Yep, up at Columbia U. they host this exhibit of students final projects at the Graduate school of Architecture, Planning, & Presevation. Here's are some flicks I took that astonished me on how well they were conceived and designed out even in sketch form! I took down names of the artists that I was most impressed by case I EVER come into some big money and need a crib design bottom to top. The exhibit is located in Avery Hall (the Ghost Busters building) on campus.
