Brand Fan: "Knock On Wood" -Brian Wood Fall '08

Fall is just around the corner, but the way Brian Wood comes hard with the messages on his newest releases, you'd swear it's the start of Spring! I especially dig the one where he has all the things "our people" have been shot over, police wrongly mistaken for a gun. Definitely something I could see Coup D'etat BK doing. His "Save New York" theme this season may not have ALL the answers, but at least he's raising some valuable questions. Btw, next photo shoot I know a great photographer you may wanna use by the name of Kwesi Abbensetts. You might wanna check our his work.

Brand Fan: "3Sixteen is 7:30!"-3sixteen the New Royalty

It seems like just the other day (actually two yrs. ago) 3sixteen founder Andrew Chan and I met, and was building for hrs. on where fashion's uncharted waters was going. Then what appears to be overnight, he went from being a "line" to being a "collection" with the help of talented partners Jeff Hamada (out of Vancouver and LA based) Johan Lam. Reshaping the brand to what you see it's become today. Key pieces to look out for in the Fall '08 releases include hooded blazers and fleece cardigans with silk paisley accents, satin-lined melton wool bombers, wool flannel shirts and aviator-influenced hoodies constructed out of rip-stop cotton and heavyweight open-end fleece. Spring just arrived, but one look at the new production work and you'll be looking forward to Fall all over again. www.3sixteen.com

Brand Fan: "All Good In the Wood" -Brian Wood

You ever follow a brand really hard, then by the next year or so you're wondering how it ever made it into your closet? Well Brian Wood is working REALLY HARD to not be one of those brands. Slowly (and rather smartly) moving away from the stigma that certain street wear labels, BW's newest collection looks like it's "splintering" off from the others to "get his grown man look on" with his Fall season designs. From the looks of things to come he'll do just fine...knock on Wood (lol).

Brand Fan: "Totally Butchin' Dude" -Butch Diva

Ladies and gentleman (mainly the ladies) I'm more than proud to present to you the future of where fashion is going, or at least where it NEEDS to be. Give it up people, and put your hands together for (drum roll) Butch Diva. Designer and brand owner Tiffany Rhodes
(I call her Big Tif) like a lot of us was unhappy with some of the choices her wardrobe offered. So she took it into her own hands...literally, and started making clothes for herself and soon after others. Her niche, hard edgy pieces with a classy diva-ish tone. She brainstormed on a name and B.D. was born. As you can see from the photos, the clothes almost look like they've been electrocuted by Broadway's neon lights. The prettiest girl in the room will also be the "Brightest"now, if she's smart enough to rock Butch Diva. She's a bad "Glama Mama"

Brand Fan: "Viva La Brooklyn!"- Coup d'Etat BK

The revolution will NOT be televised! However, it will be printed and worn, from the broken pavement streets of Brooklyn to the cobble stone walk ways of Europe.
Unless you've been walking around the streets of NYC with your eyes shut, I'm certain you've seen the quiet rumbling of a fashion takeover by the brand
Coup d'Etat
BK. From the clothes, to the pop-up shops and heavy sticker campaign and now an on-line store, it appears that their guerilla tactics are starting to pay off. But wait a minute, don't log off and run down to your local urban mall or Jimmy Jazz excepting to cope one of their pieces. It is not that type of party. You are more likely to find CDTBK in smaller retail boutiques and stores, where you need to be shopping instead, if you're a so-called fashionable individual. Put your ear to the streets, cause now the underground is making noise above ground. Breaks over, these guys are the NEW takeover!
