"Singing In The Right Key!" -On Another Note Featuring Kario Key

Man I ❤ how this universe works! Peep how while surfing the internet for inspiration my boy music producer Rich Younglord comes across this Indie/Electro Pop duo on Youtube that strikes a cord in him musically, and he decides "I GOTTA f**k with these cats!" and reaches out to directly to contact them to work with him! They holla back at him in like a day's time and the three hit it off after a few brief convos. Rewind really quick back for a sec. YL hips me to them like "Yo kid, what you think about this group? I'm in love w/ shorty's voice!" and sends me a link to hear some of their stuff. I hear "Runaway" and is instantly BLOWN AWAY! KABOOM! Now I'M all hyped like "YO! I'm FEELIN' this! Yeah man NO question! Rock with these guys!" His reply? "I've ALREADY contacted them!" And exactly WHO are they you're asking? They are Electo Pop duo Kario Key, formed by Berklee College students Lorely Rodriguez ("the Voice" pictured below) & Aaron Kleinstub ("the Sound" not pictured) broadcast their new/ sound collabo live from Boston to the world via Soundcloud and Myspace (remember that?) directly to their grassroots grown fan base. To describe their sound would be to say that it's current yet futuristic at the same time. While her voice and lyrics are timeless! I always anxious to hear what NEXT to come from them...then the NEXT one after that! Can't wait to meet these guys face to face. "❤ Of My Life!" -Say Hello To Brooklyn...AGAIN! Sat. 12th @ UltraViolet, Special Dilla Edition

Two Saturdays deep and "Hello Brooklyn!" is looking to be "the go to hang out and vibe to some good music" spot the WHOLE borough and then some will dig. Which brings me to THIS Saturday (Feb.12th). Read this statement from Ahficionado DJ Freelikefrei:

"5 years ago I was at Joe Pub listening to my homie Waajeed playing at the release of Dilla's Donuts LP. The next day (Feb. 10th) J Dilla went back to the essence after a battle with his illness. Now during that time I watched many come to promote and spread the awareness of his musical contributions to the world. Props to the ones who really are moved by his music even to band wagons that keep pile up every year around this time to say how big of a Dilla fan they are you to play a part in this help get the word out. Shout Outs to 88-Keys who was the very first to put me on to his music driving me around in his whip playing Fantastic material years before its release to the masses. This weekend join me at Hello Brooklyn for an hour music tribute to his legacy by the Ahficionados."

It's no BIG mystery that I've been trying to up the ante on my "click game" lately. To only diving in photography but branching out to videography too! But today lets' just focus on the picture taking half that I'm trying to upgrade myself with the knowledge of. Here's some flicks I've taking a couple of weeks back that I've been experimenting with using something called HDR. What IS that you ask? Well basically HDR imagery are computer renderings and the merging of multiple photographs, which in turn are made into one multi-layered photo. Yeah dopeness right? "Thank God It's Free..." -Like Frei Fridays Opening Night Photos, Enjoy & Be 'Frei

Okay off to a GOOD (but late) start, "Free like'frei" Fridays at the former Tamboril space now renamed Bamboo lounge this pass Friday was a HIT! The musical theme, 90's music till now, was executed PERFECTLY by guest DJ Jasmine Solano for the grand opening night. Brooklyn came out strong to support the Ahficionados crew and their brand of "Brooklyn bounce" I guess you could call it. Here's some great images (patting self on back) I had captured early on in the night as the crowd grow min by min. If you happened to have missed this one then FRIDAY he'll be hosting yet another one w/ guest DJ Trauma (Soundproof Intl'/the Block Association) with good ol' Soul music as the theme this time around! "You're Such A Head Case!" -Navegante Video Release Party/Concert

What's Up Fam?! It's been a MINUTE since I've posted any of my latest obsessive musical "discoveries" on the Minority Report! But recently I got put on AND introduced PERSONALLY to the funky ass Electro band that's about to be the next BIG THING! Navegante (WTFIB! As in Where The F__k I've Been?) These dude ROCK something awesome! It's like Miami Bass mixed w/ Funk and seasoned with a pitch of Electronica sprinkled all over the top...Niice! Any way they've got a HUGE show for you on Friday (Feb. 11th) at Santos Party House debuting the video for "All In Ur Head", directed by the one-and-only, Alex "Big Daddy" Kane, founder of JELLY, and the notorious Pool Parties of Williamsburg. All we can tell you is that it's going to be EPIC, and we want you to see it! "Love For Retail" -Glimpses Of Genuis Moments Featuring Bilal

So last week now only did I go to see Little Dragon I also popped into the Highline Ballroom on a last min decision to catch a gig Bilal was headlining (hey sue me, I love live shows man!) over there. I been a fan of this cat since day one! And an even BIGGER fan since the "Love for Sale" project leaked, so seeing him live for me is a NO BRAINER, even though he tends to be inconsistent with his performances. No doubt the brother can SANG but, at times the structure of his sets are a lil'... Eh? Breaks in songs are aiight but the flow into the next was like WTF! Well anyways, Highline makes a HUGE deal about no photos or recording of any sort so SORRY I don't have any pictures for you guys this time around. But I DID find these interesting clips on line featuring Bilal that I'd like to share. Enjoy! Tweet

"Little Dragon, Big Fire!" -Bowery Show Review

MAN! How the hell could i forget to tell you guys about the Little Dragon show I caught down at the Bowery Ballroom last Monday? Guessing age is the culprit, but good thing I remembered cause I got a few flicks to share. My boy Theophilus London opened up for them (which btw I missed, but still got the op to high five 'em and wish him continued success once he got off stage (pause...no groupie). Lights came on after his set, and I got the chance to see folks that heard and read about the show through my blog. DOPE! Glanced around the room and couldn't help but to think "If hipsters had a Heaven!" the ballroom looked like the WAITING room! LOL. But it was all good "HEY!" What did I REALLY expect huh? It's London AND Dragon on the SAME bill dude! Anyway long story short Little Dragon ROCKED! Yukimi Nagano, the lead vocalist does this weird (but bunny style cute) "Charlie Brown" style dance around the stage from time to time but that's just me being picky, no hate whatsoever. Final word, you GOTTA catch these folks next time they come to town guys...Awesomeness!
