"Pimpin' Ain't Easy!" -It's Showtime At the Bowery Ballroom

New York, NY- The Pimps of Joytime are returning home to kick off a summer tour at the Bowery Ballroom on THIS Saturday (June 9th). They blew the roof off in January, over selling the room by two hundred tickets. Their show at the Bowery in January jump-started what has been a whirlwind of a year. So in the spirit of this homecoming show, Pimps Of Joytime has asked some of his friends and colleagues that have been with him since the beginning to join him on the bill. NYC dance floor legend, DJ Nickodeamous, Electro Bomb droppers, Navegante and newcomers Yulix-and-the-eXtended-family will bring their flavor to the night. The Pimps Of Joytime promises to bring a soulful, groove infused set that will uplift an eager fan base.

And this is quickly shaping up to be just that! “BOX” is the story of four Haitian men who, in their quest for freedom, stow away aboard an industrial ocean liner by sealing themselves inside a large coffee container. It is a story of endurance, vulnerability, and the pursuit of their versions of the American Dream. Guests of the fundraiser will meet the play’s producers and be treated to a special scene performance by the decorated cast including Kevin Brown of the Emmy Award Winning 30 Rock and Lawrence Saint-Victor of the CBS show Guiding Light!

Last Saturday I was making plans to attend that Pimps of Joytime/Navagante joint that went down at Brooklyn Bowl. HOWEVER the G train was acting like a BI**H so plan B was the next course of action. Which SHOULD'VE been plan A for the jump! Let's me rewind a bit. About a week ago my boy Jay (Jason Smith) hit me on Twitter about posting an invite to his annual StartIn' 5 BBQ event he has (who know? obviously not me) every year. And me knowing how hungry/thirsty folks get around summer time in search of that next poppin' BBQ, I warned him "You SURE you want me to do that kid!?!" Well long story short it was Planters cashew NUTS in there! And here's the footage to back it up! Start it UP! LOL

Ok you got Game Rebellion, Navegante', Ninjasonik, Oxymoron, Roxy, Hank & Cupcakes, the ENTIRE Artful Dodger staff, and about 200 hungry eager music fans and you have the ingredients for a quite riot! Well that was the scene last week at Lit Lounge for A.D.'s "When Worlds Collide!" musical mash-up! It was hot like "the Devil on summer vacation down in Arizona" type heat up in there, but folks (literally) sweated it out and endured the "Easy Bake Oven" temperatures. "Let's Build A Fort (Greene)!" -Mos Def Headlines the Ft. Greene Festival 2011

Yep you read correctly, as if you didn't guess that already from his cameo appear
ance at the kick-off party last month feat. Q-Tip & Pete Rock! Brooklyn native Mos Def will be the main act among many that will be having a homecoming of sorts June 25th inside of Ft. Greene Park. This festival looks as if it's quickly becoming a BK staple among the cool kids still buzzing about last year's headliner Common putting in work! So I highly suggest that you start looking for your camping spot EARLY cause if the weather act right it's gonna be a WINNER that day. Here's the complete rundown of who's on it:

"Let's Connect, Politic, Ditto" -Artful Dodger Meetings Gone Wild!

Amongst the Block Association members I've been dubbed the code name "Danny Ocean" based on the character of the same name, from Ocean's (pick a number 11,12,13) films, because I orchestrated bringing everyone in the Block together. However it doesn't stop there. About a year ago, an old school mate of mine bear witness to the Rock & Bowl event headliners Game Rebellion's power, and wanted to enlist them for the revisionary launch of Jay-Z's newly acquired clothing brand Artful Dodger's revamping. So BONG! I helped make that fruitful relationship happen & a win win for both parties. OK, so fast forward a year to the day later, and I'm BACK at the same office making it happen AGAIN for the talented duo Navegante & producer Rich Younglord to team up w/ A.D. as successful as the Game deal went! Crazy right? Well anyways here are pics from BOTH monumental meets that you can get an exclusive idea who's involved. Plus I added some shots from the Artful Dodger in office/concert party/ Ustream sessions that go down on Fridays.
