And this sequel not only picks up right were the last one left us, but it will be released on the SAME day as the first one did (Christmas day). I'm a huge Guy Ritche fan so you KNOW I'm standing on line for this one already!

"You're Geekin' Me Out!" -Dope Updates On Movie Greats

Hey Harry (Potter) I know you gonna break all types of box-office records an all this weekend but truth be told I'm already on to the next one with these HIGHLY anticipated movies lined up coming out. Now don't get it twisted I respect your long fruitful 11 movie run and all but THESE joints below are more my speed. Besides I NEVER read one single book, but again I respect your "Star Wars like" hustle bro. Funny thing about all this is Warner Bros. ownes ALL these joints anyways, so it's a WIN WIN for them no matter HOW you look at it. And for those living under a rock for all of 2000's I'm speaking of the last(?) Nolan version of Batman, the sequel to Sherlock Holmes, and OF COURSE the next J.R. Tolkien Hobbit joints (the original J.R. Rowling). Just look at these posters makes me wanna "geek the f**k out!"

"The 1-2 Punch!" -Get Punched This Friday!

I GOTTA respect these marketing dudes at Warner Bros. man! They're REALLY going hard for this new Zack Synder project called "Sucker Punch" that's being released in theaters nation wide Friday (really Thurs. night). Not only are there numerous banner/posters floating around town but just within the last week TWO new anime inspired trailers have hit the internet as well, as if you were STILL doubtful of getting a ticket! I was on the fence about seeing this, only after I heard that it has some musical scenes interjected into the story line. I was all like "Huh?" But now I'll admit I'm kinda curious to see how he pulls all of these genres together besides just visually. It's looking like it's going to be a "matrix of the mind" sorta a film. Zack has been selected to revive the Superman reboot along w/ the assistance of Christopher Nolan's writing team so ticket returns one this one is uber important (to the studio) to help reassure them that this is their dude. I'll review it soon and tell you if my predictions were true. Peep the art and ads in the meantime.

"Cry Me A Freakin' River" - Justin Timberlake Cast As "the Joker?"

Seems like EVERYBODY is catching the acting bug. After the unexpected success of the "Dick In A Box" skit on Saturday Night Live that Justin appeared in, offers for starring roles have been pouring in for this guy. That say when Hollywood comes a knockin' you better greet it with a lil' "Southern Hospitality" (shameless plug for his restaurant). What you see here is a rarely seen picture from Justin's audition to play the Joker in the upcoming "Dark Knight" (out July 18th). Thank God casting over at Warner Bros. had the good sense of giving the role to the late Heath Ledger or else it would have been me mixing prescription drugs. Well good try anyway JT, I would still picked you over Jack's old ass again.

"Brooklyn Bunny"- Bugs Is From Bk?

Just a couple of days ago, someone had questioned the noticable pattern of vintage Mickey Mouse sweaters I had been wearing of recent. My only answer I had to give for the reason why is, "Oh, well he's iconic worldwide...Like i hope to be. Plus it's a great conversation starter." However, truth be told, deep down I'm a diehard Bugs Bunny fan. Always have, always will. Other than the image and artistic design of Mickey, the cartoon itself I never found funny, which I always thought cartoons should be right? I always dug Bugs simply because, in damn near every feature he was in, the premise was basically the same; He's going about his everyday business, someone comes along and interrupts his good time, and then he spends the rest of the episode making them understand "don't eff with Bugs!" You'll lost everytime. Anyway, that's why I was so drawn to his character, since the days of my youth. Now here's the other the reason, besides the obvious accent, he was from my hometown of Brooklyn! Yep, don't believe me well I've uncovered undenible proof to support my case that he was a BK bunny..."What up NOW Doc!" Enjoy

"The Prince is Dead...Long live the Prince!"

There is no secrecy to the fact that I'm a long time Prince fan. Have been ever since I first heard
"I Wanna Be Your Lover" followed by "Little Red Corvette" and a majority of the "1999" album (yes album, CD's were not the norm just yet). Then it became official for me once the "Purple Rain" phenom struck.
So you can just imagine the surprise and dismay I experienced when I recently tried to re-up on some of my "missing/borrowed" CD's from his catalog. Only to discover that...Dun Dun Dun...
They were OUT OF PRINT?!?
With further research, I had come to find out Warner Bros. pulled them off the shelves for a marketing plan to "remaster" all of his songs recorded for their label. Hmmm...I don't know man. Sounds like they're trying to squeeze another buck out the brother to me.
By "brother" I mean him AND me!
Plus that word "remaster" doesn't sit too well with me.
It's like a slave owner (a "master") trying to resell you the SAME slave but tells you,"No, no, trust me. This here boy is a NEW and IMPROVED slave!"
"Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?" suddenly comes to mind. But hey that's just my thoughts man.
