"Say Wizard! Voldemort's Gone, A N***a Dead!" -Harry Potter's Deathly Hallows Pt.2 Review

Part Matrix, part Star Wars: Episode 3, part Lord of The Ring: Two Towers, and a lil' Raiders of the Lost Ark...this LAST Harry Potter film threw everything but the kitchen sink into the foray to wrap up the long anticipated conclusion to the 11 part series. And it was WELL worth the wait! Truthfully speaking I'm sorta glad that I never took the time to sit down and read the book versions. I think it would've spoiled by my pre- conception of the characters and the plot would've been ruined for me knowing the out come. And what an outcome it was! The director who'd handled the last three before this one, hit it on the mark with the tone and mood that the films NEEDED to be taking seriously more than a tween fantasy book. Though the main characters are young the situations are VERY adult. Don't get it twisted alot of people DIE defending Harry! Young students at that! But the movie deals with that very maturely, and you get a good sense of the grave nature of why Voldemort must die. But I must say I was a bit disappointed in the ending, if I had to nitpick something "bad" about the film, but it was poppin'! I know my friends are gonna joke on me for saying this but (deep breath) Yes, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt.2 was POPPIN'! There I said it. They should've named this one "Hard Hittin' Harry Potter!" LOL. I'm givin' it 4 1/2 out of 5 M's. Now poof! Be gone.

"You're Geekin' Me Out!" -Dope Updates On Movie Greats

Hey Harry (Potter) I know you gonna break all types of box-office records an all this weekend but truth be told I'm already on to the next one with these HIGHLY anticipated movies lined up coming out. Now don't get it twisted I respect your long fruitful 11 movie run and all but THESE joints below are more my speed. Besides I NEVER read one single book, but again I respect your "Star Wars like" hustle bro. Funny thing about all this is Warner Bros. ownes ALL these joints anyways, so it's a WIN WIN for them no matter HOW you look at it. And for those living under a rock for all of 2000's I'm speaking of the last(?) Nolan version of Batman, the sequel to Sherlock Holmes, and OF COURSE the next J.R. Tolkien Hobbit joints (the original J.R. Rowling). Just look at these posters makes me wanna "geek the f**k out!"

"Thumbs The Word!" -My Must See Movie List

I LOOOOVVVVEE movies man! But if these ticket prices get any higher, I'm saving up to open my OWN bootleg theater! I'm thinking of calling it "the Butter Room" (thoughts?). Anyways as the average movie date turns out to cost the price of a Mr. Chow's dinner, I've become even MORE selective with the movies that I go see ("Step It Up 3D?" WTF). So with that being said, if I'm going to plunk down damn near $40 bones to stare at a big ass TV screen, in a dark room full of strangers, just cause the girl I'm dating other plans bailed on her, so I'm now "Plan C", it BETTER be worth my freakin' money/time. That's why trailers have come in SO handy. Some say TOO much, so say TOO little, then some ACTUALLY work the way that they suppose to! Which is get you excited about spending even MORE money to see something else besides what you're watching right now...GANGSTA! BTW save tons of money on 3D by simply SITTING CLOSER to the screen! LOL! BTW I went and got ANOTHER job in a movie theater, just so I can have extra money to afford to go SEE a movie! That's how sad it's gotten. So these are my picks that I put into my budget and why;

First up is "CYRUS." Saw this one a few weeks back...freakin' hilarious! I was laughing within the first few minutes of the opening scenes. It's the new "honesty humor" that Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill (who co-stars in this too) have help ushered in. And NO I haven't seen "Get Him To The Greek" but this is a different type of funny altogether! I cried when it was over. No not cause it was sad, it was just that funny. Well at least to me. Hahahaha see I'm STILL laughing.

Next up is "Inception", which opens THIS Friday (July 16th). This one has Leo as the lead but that's nowhere near the reason I hyped to go see it. It's cause of Christopher Nolan, dude that directed "Dark Knight" man! He's done thrillers before but NEVER on this type of a budget AND it's Sci-Fi TOO! WHOA! Plus the concept is dope! Which is ideas are priceless so steal them! Imagine a company that hires someone to enter Steve Jobs mind, to steal whatever his latest project would be. Ah you get it now? Gangster right? Well that's the story line (or at least I think it is) to the plot of this movie. I'm hoping this one is good man, or my credibility will be shot! From the trailers you can see how Chris tries to reenact the feeling of being in some one's dreams. Where things happen randomly in our subconscious, and out of order. I'm crossing my fingers on this one, or oops another $21.50 down the drain. I'm warning you EARLY, gonna be late getting to (plug) Room Service this Friday, I'm telling you NOW! (plug again) RSVP names to theMreport@gmail.com if you wanna join me.

Heard that this one "Scott Pilgrim V.S. the World" is based on a graphic novel, but why I'm interested is that fact that Michael Cera ("Super Bad" & "Juno") & Edgar Wright (who directed "Shaun of the Dead") teamed up for this one! So it best be funny as Hell! I was laughing just watching the trailer (which is a rarity for me) so it's a good sign that this one may be GREAT! The background graphics sorts reminds me of "Zombieland" but it in a good way! One tix bought & sold already.

Then lastly ya boy (well MAN I should say now) is back for the finale chapter of the "Harry Potter (HP7)" film which will be split into two parts AND in 3D! Talk about raping you for all you got and milking the cow dry huh? Gotta say, I've NEVER picked up and read a single book. But I've definitely seen EVERY movie. And I'll be first to admit each one has gotten BETTER than the last one before it. The look, the emotional intensity, the character depth...everything! As Prince once sung "...Life is just a party and parties aren't meant to last." So farewell Harry you had a GREAT run.

"Dirty Harry" -Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince Review

Last week I joined the some odd millions of "Pot(ter) Head" fans to take in a viewing of the latest adventures at Hogwarts. Not only did I manage to get the last ticket sold, I found a seat where my neck didn't have to be fully reclined back. At was a 11:50 showing and I got there 12:05 so catching any previews was a wrap! Even the "acne challenged" concession dudes shut me down. Using my cell phone like the tip of Harry's wand to find my way through the dark. I was far from alone, the theater was RAMMED! I missed the first 5 mins of the movie, but whatever. I'm still gonna give a full review regardless. From the title I was a bit confused, thinking that the "Half-Blood" part meant that it was some what gang related. Boy was I wrong! This was more focused on a bunch on of spell conjuring horny teens. Like every other Harry Potter movie set up, it starts with the usual scenes of the main characters preparing to go off to school, then meeting the newest additions to the teaching staff. This time around the "evil ratio" was stepped up a bit very effectively to convey the seriousness of the coming of the "Dark Lord." As the series gets closer to the end, it seems to get better and better. Only problem I have if any is the over zealous fans that follow and expect the movie to be spot on like the book. I sat next to one guy that was an obvious fan that keep holding conversations with the screen. I WISH I had a spell for moments like this! I'd be like "Shutus Theefuckus Uppers!" and wave my palm pilot wand and their lips seal shut! Ummm, dude some of us non-geeks didn't read the book, stop spoiling it for the rest of us. I give this one a solid 3 1/2 M's out of four.

"Harry (Trailer) Nuts"- New Harry Potter Trailer for "Half-Blood Prince"

I'll be the first to confess, I've NEVER read one book of the cult phenom followed Harry Potter books. But I HAVE seen each and every movie that came out based on those books. So I am a fan of the series, though a late one. Well there's something I found for those like me that enjoy the films to get excited about. It's the lastest trailer for the "Half-Blood Prince." Hopefully it'll surpass the former ones and not be "Half-Bad" or "Half-Ass" LOL. Watch it in the dark!

MOVIES: "Hot Buttered Popcorn!"

This year in film can only be summed up by one phrase only,
"Get Yo Geek On!"
MARVEL vs D.C. plays out of the silver screen finally (...well sort of)
"The Incredible Hulk" and "Iron Man" double up against
"The Dark Knight" The winner...Batman, word is he has a "Joker" up his sleeve.
Will Smith ("Hancock") vs. his new BFF Tom Cruise ("Valkyrie"). Two words...Summer madness!
"Speed Racer" vs "Get Smart" vs "Sex and the City" Tune in to these three TV favorites.
Who will gain "commercial" success?
We'll have another "Harry (Potter)", "Hellboy(2)", and "Harold (& Kumar) on our hands.
For the fanboys "Fanboy", "Star Trek", and (yes finally) another "Indiana Jones" movie.
Not forgetting to mention a new addition to the "Naria" series, "Cloverfield." "Bond" (#22),
"Wanted," "10,000 B.C." The unholy trinity of Pacino, De Niro, and Jackson (as in Curtis...as in 50 Cent) in "The Righteous Kill." and lastly Pixar's "Wall*E"rounding out just SOME of the must sees.

MY PREDICTION '08:
Forget last year's "I Am Legend"... I Am Broke will the buzzed about movie drama in '08.
I will...
A) Start dating foreign style I.E. Dutch as opposed to African-American style. Or...
B) Get mad cool with the street corner foreign exchange student Mr. D.V. D'botlega.
I never ask, & he'll never tell. Umm can I get 3 for 10?
