"Flashing Lights" -Paparizzi Pics (Pt.153)

The roof, the roof, the roof was NOT on fire this past Saturday! Too much damn misty rain, so we moved the party inside, and what a party it was. My long time friend, and a fav DJ of mine (who is also EVE's stage DJ) Miss Saigon, set it off early for those that attended with her signature brand of "Hip-80's-Pop-Rock" mixes she does best. Folks that came out seem disappointed that the roof wasn't a no-go but made the best of it, once the music (and drinks) kicked in. M-1 (of Dead Prez), DJ Kid Capri, Sway (of MTV, and one of the party's host), and Bonsu (XXL/King mag) all came out to peep the opening night, and spread the word. I 'm so used to doing events in BK I had forgotten how scantily dressed some women come out to party! I wasn't mad, I was just shocked and rudely re-awakened LOL. None the less the turn out was a descent one being that the rain was making things well...Wet. After awhile VIP had ran out of tables and used some chicks ASS(!) to do bottle service (see last two pics below)! WOW! Anyways, we're planning a "do-over" THIS Saturday (June 27th), and according to the weather (87 & sunny) we SHOULD be good money with the roof top being open this time around. "Long Live The KING, The KING Is Dead!" -King Mag Dies at 51

I'm not sure you've caught wind of the bad news, but the mighty KING magazine's LAST issue is currently on the stands as I write this (tears streaming down my face) to you. This is to me one of the biggest loses felt in the publishing industry in a string of magazines folding. Why do I say this? Just think about, KING was the tamed down choice of flesh periodicals for men 18-32. A "health" alternative to hard core porn rags. With KING not around, the youth of today will now have to turn to the triple x stuff to pleasure themselves! Also the writing and editorial work went unmatched. Now where will aspiring female rappers, young (& old) actresses looking to rejuvenate their career, and video vixens on the come up turn to to get that much need "exposure" (pun intended)? Awww, buddy! It's a dark day in America when our young brothers (and some sisters, if you're into that) have but few choices of places to turn to (outside of rap videos, strip clubs & the Internet) to oggle the ethnic female body. Rest in peace KING. You will forever live on, underneath the mattress of my mind! Lol!

Do yourself a favor, next time you hear something about King magazine having an event anytime soon, GO! What started to look like a slow night, quickly turned into a packed to the walls house full of industry folk, and well wishers for King's 50th(!) issue. I swore it's been more than that, but hey if they say so then who am I to argue. Cats came with their tongues hanging out, hoping to catch a glimpse of some of their lusted & loved featured models of past and present. There was NO "popping champagne" as Ron Browz sung, but Nuvo was definitely flowing heavy! Dawn from that Danity Kane group made an appearance to sing "Happy 50th" in a "Happy B'day" style, and Bussa Bus was the "surprise guest" that people where trying to guess all night. I thought AT LEAST the cover girl shoulda been there...come on! But it's a recession, that may not have been in the budget. Lol

Wow! What a year for black culture huh? First a the first president of color gets sworn in. Then the world's famous Apollo turns 75 years of age. Both Motown and Alvin Ailey mark their 50th anniversary. Last night the NAACP hit their 1ooth year being around! And now what better benchmark for our people to raise their hands in praise of forward movement during Black History Month...KING magazine is releasing issue no.# 50th soon! We shall overcome...our lust for big booties! YES we can...buy two issues! Keep hope alive...that's it's not sold out already!

I call myself trying kill two birds with one stone last Thursday, when I attempted to attend the Hennessey party at the Rivington hotel hosted by my man Datwon Thomas (of KING /XXL Magazine fame) but was rudely awaken, when doors were shut at 9pm (over capacity my ass)! So around the corner (mad early) we go, to wait for Rasu's (Coup D'Etat BK) B'day jump-off At Libations to ummm...jump-off. So Ashley "Ashy", Chandon, Kimberly "Hut One, Hut Two" Hutton, and myself (looking like lost Prom goers) wound up ordering food, till the place filled up, And boy did it! Seems like EVERYONE from "Pan" (Trace Mag) to Fly Lady Di, to Game Rebellion showed up to show love for ya boy Rasu. "L.A." (Lyshaan Hall) came late (as expected), but yet so on time. Cause I was done, and ready to bounce. I combed over the pics but still ...no you.
