"I Said A Hip-Hop..." -Two BK Events That Are Keeping It Real!

Tonight is a GREAT night for Hip-Hop! For not one but TWO awesome parties are going on celebrating the culture we know now as Rap. It's a beautiful thing and a national treasure to have such an original art form start from this great city! The first one (@ ReBar in DUMBO) will span 30yrs back til now with "ROCK WIT IT"DJ Goldfinger spinning only the stuff that made you remember why Hip-Hop (and R&B) got SO big! It'll will preceded by a fashion model/designer search (7pm-9pm) by Butch Diva & Coup D'Etat BK Arts Collective. Then from 9pm on...straight PARTYING! And the catch is, it's FREE all night!
Then on the other side of town, Deity will play host to the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival's pre-party w/ live performances MC Alaska, Westwind, and DJ Atarilogic. Music by Mick Boogie himself! Starts at 10pm(-4am) and the cover for ladies & men is $10. So there you have it my friends a NICE night on the town in BK! Enjoy!

"Ol' School, New School, Need To Learn.." -BK Honors 30 Yrs. Of Hip-Hop!

Just in time for the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, the Brooklyn Syndicate in association w/ Rock the Block BK presents part one of a two part musical tribute series. The first of these two will be an event titled "ROCK WIT IT!" -a special event highlighting the best music has to offer in the past 30+ years of Hip-Hop and R&B music. Not only is it FREE to the public, DJ Goldfinger will be doing a special set to BK artist! Starting early evening (9pm-till you say it's over), there will be a model/designer search be held prior to this event (7-9pm) if you are interested as well. Part two? In July look forward to Def Jam and Bad Boy going head to head at "BAD TO DEF!" a sure fire banger before the BIG finale in Aug. (15th) Rock The Block BK!

"Flashing Lights" Paparazzi Pics (Pt.67)

You missed a great turn-out Saturday under the Brooklyn Bridge in Empire State Park man! There was this Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival going on there (all day) thrown by Brooklyn Bodega.com, that I know you would have enjoyed! Yume teamed up w/ the Stylistics Agency and killed the gift lounge (for the invited performing acts) so much that, VIP was damn near empty, from folks staying to chill under our tent instead (LOL). Not everyone that showed out is pictured here but you'll get the basic idea of the type of talent the event drew. Having to be the ALL DAY, I made full use of the donated cans of Red Bull we were supplied. I was nicknamed "El Minority Matador" by the end of the day based on the amount of "Bulls" I downed during the day. I paid for it too, cause in the bathroom it was the "running of the bulls" far as my bladder was concerned. Anyhow the events highlights were of course show headliner KRS-One, and local (but internationally known) MCs, Mickey Factz & Fresh Daily, that ripped their individual sets. Bilal was a no show but, I enjoyed it none the less.

Already on it's 4th year it looks as if the Annual Hip-Hop Festival in Brooklyn is gonna last as long as Hip-Hop itself!
