"F**k Yo Couch! It's A Celebration B****es!" -Lyshaan "L.A." Hall Keeps It "500"

Do you KNOW this man? YES, some may know him (especially around tax time) as the face of Acacia, one of Brooklyn most successful independently owned tax preparation firms. YES, he is ALSO the financial consultant for Brooklyn's fastest growing event planning company the Block Association. And little may know he's been often been mistaken as either actor Michael Jai White (of Dark Knight/Black Dynamite fame) or that dude on the horse from those Old Spice commercials! For those that DON'T know, pictured above is one Mr. Lyshaan "L.A." / "Pockets" Hall. And why you should get familiar is that he's notorious for having the most extravagant b'day parties EVERY year, and THIS year he's decided to host it at our already huge 2nd Annual Black Fashion Month Gala the "Fashion 500." Why is this important? Duh! He's inviting you to bear witness to greatness! Be dressed camera /internet YouTube ready!

Disclosure:
Upon agreeing to attend, Mr. Hall is NOT to be held responsible for any cleaners/shoe shine bills you may incur (from cake cream, Rose' spillage, cigar ashes, MAC make-up, etc.) during this celebration. Loss of memory (or relationship) may occur. Thanx.

"Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt.242)

What can I say but "WOW!" Last Sunday (Feb. 6th) one of my top fav Block Association (along w/ Detailed Events NYC) events, "My Uber Sunday Superbowl Party (Pt.2)" was where ALL of the cool kids of Brooklyn were hang out at! No lie, it had to been like at least 250+ in the building by half-time! And speaking of half-time, did you get to peep the live performance by the Grand Army Players VS Soundproof Intl.! THAT was history made right there folks. Good thing that was planned too, cause I was hearing that the Black Eye Peas stunk the joint up something awful! This year was WAY bigger then last by far! Cause first off the top all three floors were SOLD OUT table wise. Then on damn near every table was a bottle of either Coconut Ciroc, Rosay, or Grey Goose. So you know once the actual game was over folks were NIIIICE! And the after party kicked off ASAP! Even I (who barely drinks) was doing my best "Charlie Sheen" impression that night...WHITE BOY WASTED! I STILL don't know who won! Any ways here are a few flicks I managed to click before I got loose off that Goose. LOL. Oh yeah, and the video is a clip for half-time rehearsals at UltraViolet too.

"Pigskin & Patron!" - Sunday (Feb. 6th) Gets No Uber Than This! My Uber Super Sunday Returns..,

Okay, let's be honest. the Superbowl has become an unofficial holiday every year in February. Folks tend to think of it as "the New Year's Eve of sports!" And rightfully so, cause even if you're not a fan of any of the teams attending, or even the sport! You are more than likely to gather with a group of friends to watch it along with the rest of the WORLD! I say all this to announce that WE'RE HAVING A HUGE SUPERBOWL PARTY! Last year surprisingly even to us, the Block Association along w/ Detailed Events NYC had over 250+ ppl. attend our very first "My Uber Sunday Superbowl Party!" It's now safe to say it was a HUGE success! But this year we're looking to make this one even not just bigger & better, but BOLDER! Please join us Superbowl Sunday to help make this more "UBER" than the last! It's by far Brooklyn's LARGEST gathering to watch the BIGGEST game...Hands down!

"3...2...1 Yo Self!" -Let's Have The Time Of Our Lives...Right NOW!

Okay lets' do a re-cap folks! Last Dec. we took New Year's Eve celebrations up a notch and brought class back to Brooklyn with the FIRST EVER casino themed party in Dumbo "Casino Royale"! Blackjack table, full tuxs and all! Then in Feb. we followed it up with the BIGGEST Superbowl party that I've ever seen in my lifetime called "My Uber Superbowl Party". April it was "the Fashion 500" party Easter weekend AND our first photo shoot penthouse party pushing for Black Fashion Month. In the month of May we present the hugely successful concert / bowling party "Rock & Bowl" @ Brooklyn Bowl. July we started a heatwave with our Anniversary weekend parties with one HISTORIC gathering at the Brooklyn Museum's/ Target's first Saturday event, and had the LARGEST recorded turnout EVER in the history of the museum's events! 4.000+ folks! August we tried and succeeded with something new on Sunday's called "Any Given Sunday" brunch w/ drinks, food, and a movie. And it became a MOVIE! LOL. Ending on Labor Day weekend w/ a big bashment. Mid-Sept. all the Block Association Virgo's conjoined together for one "gianormous" birthday celebration on Fashion Night Out at Room Service Friday's. Boom! Then we hit'em with the second annual "Monsters Ball" Halloween party collabo w/ the Brooklyn Circus crew, that had a block long line, and reached capacity at 12:00!!! Nov. we held the 2nd "Flashing Lights" event with SheisNYC.com's anniversary. SHEESH! We've had a really HUGE year! And I said all of that to say THANK YOU! Thank you for making us the Block Association the No.#1 premiere event planning group to come out of Brooklyn in a while. We love that you support the movement back to classier style events for the borough we were raised in. It feels good to do it for BK. However we need your attendance for just TWO more events to end the year off RIGHT! And they are:

"The Boogie Monster Is Coming" -YES! One Mo' Day Till We Monster Ballin'

The Survival Guide of Having A Great Time @ MONSTERS BALL!

1. Have you RSVP'd for FREE entree (till 11:30) yet? That's the ONLY way that the FREE thing works so...Make sure it's your FULL NAME too!

2. EARLY arrival is HIGHLY SUGGESTED! We're expecting just as (if not BIGGER) than last year's turnout for this Saturday so the line will be long and strong. If you're not through those doors by 11:30 on the dot then you WILL be subject to paying the $10 (or more) entree fee.

3. Know how to get there? Brooklyn Bridge is the best way coming from Manhattan the first exit to your right Cadman Plaza then bear right and straight down will bring you right to Front St. By train you can take, the A/C to High St. third car (coming from BK) exit then walk three blocks down. 2/3 train to Clark St. will put you close too. Last option would be the F train to York as well but the walk is a little farther.

4.Dumbo is TERRIBLE on parking! However there IS a parking lot on the very NEXT block from the venue on Front St. that stays open late!

5.ALL Block Association events are 21+ w/ID Yeah we know the Brooklyn Circus is co-presenting but hey, we're not selling clothes Saturday. It's a PARTY folks! NO ID NO ENTRY NO BUTS! Check before you leave the house and the other purse you forgot it in.

6. This is a COSTUME party! However ALL BLACK attire is fine but CLEAN CUT PLEASE! And honestly a mask wouldn't hurt either if you going for that look. No costume WILL cost you slightly more at the door.

7. They will be all races, ages (over 21), and walks of life there. Be respectful to EVERYONE. Cause you have a mask on is NO excuse to be rude and disruptive. You AND your girl "Snooki" WILL get thrown the f**k out back to Jersey Shore!

8. DJs FREE like 'Frei, Trauma, Goldfinger, and Jasmine Solano are well qualified DJs and play a wide variety of music genres, so you hear a LOT on Sat. Plus we have THREE flrs. so if you're NOT the dancing type then the first and second flrs. are more loungy.

9.Bring friends and a GOOD camera! It's going to be a eyeful if history repeats itself, and you wouldn't wanna miss a THING!

10. Come with a GREAT attitude a make NEW friends and see old ones and simply have a FUN time! Introduce yourself to a Block Association or Brooklyn Circus member and let'em know you appreciate the invitations. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

"Flashing Lights" -Paparazzi Pics (Pt.219)

Okay, tell me you didn't see this one coming! After 3 weeks of putting folks on to an alternate Sunday evening "chill spot" this Sunday past took the m***erf**kin' cake! At 6pm in the evening...on a Sunday mind you, folks was partying as if it were Mike's (Michael Jackson's) ACTUAL birthday party. From the outdoor patio, to the second floor "skybox", to the main floor, people were drinking, eating and vibing to the tunes Jon Quick, DJ Trauma, & Free like 'Frei were thrown DOWN! Basement! Then once Silky Valente' got on the mic to season the mood, it was a MUMMY, aka fajita, aka wrap! Folks lost their collective minds up in that piece. I swore it one point even security had their hands up during that DJ Khlad song "All I Do Is Win!" No lie. LOL! Well I'm pretty sure you got a Twitter/Facebook message about what was going down that night. We actually paused at one point in the party, JUST so folks can update their status and not miss a beat. Anyways FYI that was just the warm up for the "Any Given Sundae" finale THIS Sunday for the Labor Day weekend break. We'll be starting a lil' later than our usual time of 4pm and going longer than 11pm. In other words "We partyin' HARD!" that night. Go for you that Monday's NO work huh?
