"Brooklyn's On Strike!!!" -Brooklyn Bowl Is Far From Being Gutter

Now I know how Chris Nolan felt after "Dark Knight" became a hit. Since New Year's Eve ("Casino Royale") folks are already asking "What's next?" from the BlocK Association. Well one strong idea being tossed around is a HUMONGOUS bowling party complete with DJ's and a live concert to boot! Yeah, I know your next question is "Where is that gonna go down at...in Brooklyn?" Great question. The answer to that would (and can only be) Brooklyn Bowl located in Willyburg, right around the corner from Beacon's Closet & Brooklyn Brewery. Just when folks thought bowling alleys in NYC are going the way of the dinosaur, up pops this gem of a spot laced with a performance stage, large bar area, and wall to wall 40'' flat screen tvs. Plus they serve food! Friday night some friends & I made a spontaneous decision to all head over there to socialize and bowl off some steam. Only to be told that the wait time would be (NOT 1, NOT 2, NOT even 3, but...) 4 freakin' hours. So we only chilled and ate waiting till the rest of our party arrived. 2 1/2 hrs passed with no luck of an open lane so "plan B" was head over to play pool at Ocean's 8 (Flatbush & 7th). Long story short, we're planning to book a "private" party over at Brooklyn Bowl (possibly for Black History Month) and we would love for you to join us. Here some flicks I took to get you hype!

"Drop (The NYE Ball) Like It's Hot! -The New Year is QUICKLY Approaching...You Get Tix Yet?

The year 2009 is almost OVER! And WHAT a year it was huh?!? Well my personal thoughts are "Always end the year the same way you start it...CLASSY!" That's why New Year's Eve has traditionally been a HUGE holiday worldwide! So with that being said, let's end our year together with a BANG! Next Thurs. Dec. 31st "Casino Royale" is the ONLY NYE theme party in Brooklyn...or even NYC for all that matter. Tickets start at $30, VIP $300 per couple (w/table resrv & bottle), food served till 11pm, party over at 5am. 4 top notch DJs, 3 flrs. of music, a live drummer, blackjack table (till 2am) and the crowd will be fashionable as f@#k! That alone is enough to celebrate! Have a happy one wherever you decided to bring it in, but have a GREAT one with us.

"Flashing Lights"-Paparazzi Pics (Pt.39)

Got an invite to an event both GQ (big fan) and Grand Marnier was hosting at the Volstead in Manhattan last Wed. Not sure what the event was for, but just hearing those two together, at a venue I've never been to (under their current name) and it was an open bar. Was a big enough draw for me. Say no more, I'm there! Dumb tired from a 7am (!) trip to A.C. w/ Momma Minority, I knew I had to attend this one, just due to the fact that I've been a GQ fan since my youth (not too long ago). Everything about the event from the turn out of folks, to the choice of venue, was on point. I even felt under dress (which is rare for me) once I observed the attire people in attendance were donning. Except for when I spotted that guy... What's-his-face? From what's-that-group that sings "Laffy Taffy" or something like that (who remembers). I did NOT feel so bad at all. Meet quite a few DOPE folks too (shout out to Paris P. & Toi) that made my decision to come out a smart one. However, someone forgot to give me the memo that I was homeboys' (with the glasses) personal photog (sheesh)! The brother WAS dressed sharply but, next time let 'em know that I charge hourly dude. LOL!

"Stay Fly Lady Or Di Tryin' "-Fly L.D. at Gallery Bar

It's kinda hard to hard a post on someone you know, that's a inspiration to you without sounding like your making the person seem larger than life. But facts are facts, and it just is what it is when it somes to artist Fly Lady DI. She's done more in her young age of (oh...I forget that's not polite to do) than more have done all their life. Anyway google her, you'll see her stats, and she's adding to that by doing her OWN showing of her works this Wed. @ Gallery Bar.Come out and "discover" this "fresh" new talent, before you have to stand in a long line to pay to see her works in a museum.
